Two pretty well known names in the hobby.
I happened upon this ebay listing while searching for vintage "Tootle Loop" radios for Christmas presents for my daughters. Another story. Glad I did, I had to have it as I have several of these engines in various configurations but none like this. Catch the restrictor "throttle".
I believe Ian has some as well IIRC.
Not to be outdone (Bee if your Eric) I also picked up this Golden Bee a one time favorite of mine. I had two on my scratch built P-38 now replaced by Black Widows. Sadly all my old Golden Bees are now history, so I'm happy to add this $15 scratched up old girl to my inventory once again.

I'm glad that you mentioned that Eric, I have it book marked. I already have a couple so will not bid.

My Enya 60 ran rather well with an exhaust restricter Eric, course it had a carburetor too.
How long have you had your Jim Walker Royal Spitfire? Ebay find? Is it .068 displacement too?

Yes, the "Royal" Spitfire was .065, "Spitfire" was .049 and the "Baby" Spitfire was .045.Mark Boesen wrote:I think they're .065

Great haul, Bob. I've been looking for a Firecracker that still has the restrictor plates on it for a while. Someday I'll find one.

Hey Greg, where've you been all this time? it's been a while since we heard from you. Glad you're still with us.
I'm curious as to how the RPMs increase with the baffle???

Yes. .065. I would like to blame my error on a typo but it was just the old noggin going to sleep again.
Hey....Greg's back, took an old Enya to flush him out. Yepeeeeeee.
Bob
Nobody loves my Golden Bee? It's got that rompin stompin standard #2 cylinder and a good glow head. Battle scars too, plier marks on the thrust washer lots of scratches on the fuel tank but at least the back plate isn't crushed by the securing screws. Bet it will run well, can't wait to try it out. Old times were good times.
BTW - people...no need to use pliers on the drive washer, I use sized hardwood strips placed in the exhaust ports of all my engines to back off a stuck propeller. Tooth picks work too. This should be a no pliers zone...

Bob, I like that Golden Bee. The GB is one of the less rare Cox engines that I still haven't been able to find here in Finland. I'd like to have both the early model like yours and maybe also a late model with the thick neck crankcase.
Guess I should get an eBay account and start hunting
That Spitfire is nice too. I wonder how many different model airplane engine models there are in the world?
