My new OS!

My new OS!
Hi all I know, long time no see I've just been real busy and recently got a new job and that's taking a lot of my time lately. Anyway Got a new engine that I want to share with you guys so here it is..
This is My new OS FS.95V which is staring down my angry TD .09 This is the larger member of their new four stroke series that's replacing the older surpass series. Looks nice especially the cylinder and pushrod tubes. This engine is going in my old Pika Rapier that I just found that I lost back in 91 which I put away due to going to tech school just after graduating high school and it got misplaced, took me 25 years to find it again. It's undergoing restoration and is being updated with modern radio equipment hopefully it will be up and operational soon! anyway enjoy!

Serious hauling power there. 9 pounds of thrust.

I've always wanted a 4 cycle CL. They sound cool and I love the torque.

Re: My new OS!
What makes that cam work, is it just a pair of lobes machined onto the crankshaft, or is it a sleeve keyed to the shaft? What about lifters, is there anything between the pushrod and the lobe... single-ball bearing, nylon pad...?

Re: My new OS!
By the shape of it, my guess is it has a worm gear machined in the middle of the camshaft

Re: My new OS!
The cam is machined single piece with two lobes with the drive gear in the middle. It's supported by two ball bearing on each end and is driven by a worm gear machined in the crankshaft. It also uses tappets to work the valves. (Bandit)

I have an original open-rocker FS60. I can't imagine ever building anything that big to fit it to, but it sure is fun bench-running it and listening to that sweet burble at idle. Far less scary to bench run than my Enya .60, which is just awesome at full barrel.

Re: My new OS!
Thanks! It is destined for my old Pica Rapier which is for some reason it is not very well known. It's a stick type model that flies with a 60 two stroke or 60 to 90 size four stroke. It originally had an OS SF.61 in it which is an awesome engine and ran very well and I still have it. I just wanted to put a more modern engine on it since I'm upgrading it with dual servos for the ailerons and swapping out my old Futaba FG six channel gold case wide band system for my newer 10CHG radio and beefing up some weak spots that gave me problems when I was flying it back when I was in high school. It's gonna be a real stump puller! (Bandit)getback wrote:That is just BA 's What you going to put that monster on Bandit ? It's been done. Mostly with smaller 4 cycles.
