Profi 1.5cc Combat
I picked up two of these.
One new and unrun
One used and modded. It was missing the NVA but easily replaced.
Now mounted ready for a run.

Diesels I assume? Nice looking, especially the beam bar mounts!

They are diesels and yes they are "Fora" - Fora and Profi are made in the same factory and this end are known as Fora Profi. The same factory also produces engines sold under other names and makes special limited runs of copies.

I suppose FAI combat regulations uses the .09 for combat ? I don't know this for certain, but it was said to me once that the British 1/2A class goes can use up to a .09. Of course diesels could have their own regulations.

1/2 A regs in the UK and Europe accept engines up to 1.5cc. This site confused me at first when discussions referred to 1/2 A as being up to 050 ci.
Diesel or glow - it doesn't matter but diesel is easier to restart. The most popular contests are the "Old Timer" contests with "Vintage" combat models (all toughies not like the modern flimsy things!).
They are also speed restricted and most use PAWs or Oliver Tigers (clones are allowed).

Old fogey combat (60 +) - no silly hats and diesels!
The youngsters wear silly hats but notice the engine starting (from cold!)
See page 62 for 1/2A combat

Re: Profi 1.5cc Combat
Ian, thank you for that confirmation regarding the larger engine size. My fellow club member had mentioned this to me some time ago. He said that the Cox TD .09 was a lot more popular over seas than here in the states. I have a few wings here that balance perfectly with the TD .09. While I can fly them for fun, I can't use them for combat contests. We do allow one exception which is plain bearing .061's.
