Should be a very good year for your crops? Corn and soybeans going up.

So is everything else. Fertilizer is up 40% over last year. Fuel is up and herbicides are in short supply. The farmer buys retail, sells wholesale, and payed freight both ways.

Looks like that has not changed in 30 years!

Just filled up my gas tank at Sunoco this morning. My first $40 tank in a long, long, time. So long Keystone.

Wait till MI shuts down Enbridge line 5 oil pipeline from Canada. We haven’t seen high gas prices yet.

Re: How does your Garden Grow
With the exchange at where it is right now, according to Google, it is currently $3.97 USD per gallon of gas here.
$1.279 per litre. 1.279 x 3.78 = $4.83 per gallon CAD. $4.83 CAD is currently showing as $3.97 USD. Been like this for over a month already here, and not the first time it was this high. Before all this even started, we were even higher at times.

OH Yeah! You should see the scare tactic commercials being run on TV by enbridge! Wow, The world is gonna end! Long endless lines of Tanker Trucks clogging up the highways to replace the oil not pumped thru the pipeline.
Houses with mothers and freezing babies with NO heating fuel!! Line of cars for gas like in the 70’s. It’s not a matter of “if” there’s a line break...just a question of When? They’ve already polluted Kalamazoo and the Kalamazoo River, I guess they don’t care if the pollute the largest body of fresh water in the country
No, it NEEDS to be shut down, NOW!

Re: How does your Garden Grow
Autumn leaves look lovely, when they're still on the trees.
Might find a fairy or two in the garden!!
These leaves aren't even ours. All from the neighbour's place.
Slow start to getting firewood. Got to get his under cover soon.
Won't be long now and the fire will be going full time. Starting to cool down quite a bit.

Love the look Rod, Autumn is my favorite time of year. Good to see the barn you constructed again, such a nice design.

I love that tree OB, it sure has potential. Good thing you planted it away from the house. Previous owners of this house had planted a red maple right by the foundation. I dug it up and replanted it but it never has developed even after eleven years.
This standard maple, a different story. It was about the size of yours when we moved in. Today.
Like your flower box too. A raised cotton sheet will protect it. Frost forecast here tonight too.

Lots of red maples in this neighborhood! I like them. Only tree in my yard is an ancient big old Burr Oak on one corner. I think I started a trend....four more houses have planted trees since mine!...they all gawk when driving by. Something new caught thier eye I guess. Don't know how long it will hold its spring blossoms.

Re: How does your Garden Grow
If you grow veggies and other stuff , I found this place and may have bought from them before ? But anyway after checking some prices on some fresh seed for this yr. Man seeds are expensive !! Well followed a ad and these people seem to have a good selection of all kinds of seed stuff because they use other vendors and there packets are about 1/2 price so you may want to check it out >> https://www.trueleafmarket.com/ At the price of food I hope there are other people going for it this year . About to start some seed inside real soon just got some potting soil seeds OTW 2 raised boxes with 1 more coming this year ,

Re: How does your Garden Grow
That’s a nice web store Eric…. I like messing with a garden on a small scale …. I ordered some gourd seeds from a -bay seller for this year…. If I’m successful will use them for houses for the Purple Martins that come every spring…You can buy pre made Martin houses shaped like gourds but they are expensive…. So me being frugal (cheapo) will try and my own…. They are supposed to keep the sparrows out compared to a traditional house…
I grew some cotton last year just for the heck of it…. My daughter in law is kind of crafty and wants to try and make some yarn with it…

Re: How does your Garden Grow
I just finished watching an episode of The Smithsonian's channel "Inside the Factory". All about how soup is made. Told about harvesting peas, only at peak for two days and once harvested only good for a couple of hours before they need to be cooked or frozen or lose flavor.
No garden for me again this year. Eric grows a lot of stuff among them cucumbers. I have been buying them at the store. Peel, slice, a little salt or vinegar and an ice cube on top to keep them cold and crisp......Lifes simple pleasures.
