But I think I'll stick to my Harbor Freight ultrasonic cleaner. I don't know. Is it sad when Harbor Freight is the quality choice?

Great idea. I think the suspended sander is throwing away up to half of the vibration. Securing it firmly to the table(or floor, if the table is not stout enough) will transfer more of the vibration into the jar.

Please check out all the other Ichiban Moto videos too, very useful info
Actually, old laundry machines worked on that principle (some even with gas engines) so there is something to it. And, I think John Steinbeck in "Travels with Charlie" did his laundry so that he put the laundry, water and detergent into a pail on the floor of his motorhome, and after a day of driving it was ready to be rinsed

Re: Not the worst idea I've ever seen
Here's something I am going to try:
Glad I didn't destroy my old hard drives, and I still got the old desktop PC too
I have 4 HDD's I think, so I can make a dedicated grinder for all the different grain sizes I need

Hey, I have 3 or 4 lying around as shiny decorations! Now I have something more useful for one of them. Thanks.

I shredded close to 400 HDD's last week. Part of my job. Here's a little story.. I had to dis-assemble two older drives that wouldn't fit down the shoot. I saved the magnets from them.. because I wanted them. Later on I put them in my coat pocket. I should have "dropped them" into my pocket.. because they snapped together and took a chunk out of my expression-finger tip. It hurt like hell!
Regarding the vibro-sonic cleaner vid, I'd rather see it with the jar sitting atop an inverted palm-sander.. using the same type of sandpaper mounting for the bracket. I'd be afraid of the lid vibrating off of a hanging jar.. and spilling liquid and parts on the floor. It would be easy to make a small saddle for holding the sander inverted on the bench. Nitrile/solvent-resistant gloves is always a good idea.. or use tongs or a bent wire to dip/check/remove parts.
