TD, sportsman, and definately the olympic are not going to be bought for $45. I am 1 for 3 sending things to Australia. Either the roos are stealing packages or the island of inmates is living up to it's reputation. Either way I don't sent stuff down under.

Jason is right, $45 isn't going to get you there.
However, there are many non-Cox .15's that will get the job done and they can be bought for $45 or less. Something to think about.

A little harsh don't you think? Things have changed out here somewhat in 227 years. I could say more but have decided on discretion. Maybe the Independence Day thing has just got to you.

I have NEVER had a problem in the MANY engines plus other things I've had posted using your normal mail system to Australia over many years.
Why do you say this? Do you for some reason not like leaving things from your great country to be shared by other like minded people?
FWIW I have lived in the USA twice in the '90s for 6 months at a time, and find American people very hospitable and reasonable, so PLEASE just what is your problem?

The same can be said of the American colonies.

Only angry because Paypal refunded the buyers because they never got the package. Im out everything even though I had it insured with USPS. USPS insurance only covers till it is transfered to the destination carrier for delivery. It was lost somewhere in Australia on both occasions.

Re: who has a cox 15 for sale?
I would suggest that's the exception rather than the rule. You were just unfortunate. It concerns me that making people scared to send stuff out here will only make it harder for us. It's hard enough as it is convincing people that we are a well developed nation, even after all these years.Jason_WI wrote: It was lost somewhere in Australia on both occasions.
To the rest of you, please don't let Jason's experience effect your willingness to help out like-minded fellow enthusiasts. Many of you have been a great help to me and I've managed to complete a number of engine restorations with parts shipped in from the States. I'm currently awaiting 2 laser cut kits from Roger. I hope he doesn't get scared off.
It's incredible to see the amount of enthusiasm young 12 year old Greg from Queensland has. If there are people who can help him out, that's great. How many kids that age are into I/C models? We could only dream about our own kids following us into the hobby. Sadly it happens too seldom.
Jason, I mean no offence, but to be considered a colony of convicts gets on my goat. You do a great job with this forum, as do the other moderators and regular contributors, but you clearly need to take care not to alienate people.
Rod.

I agree with Rods comments. I don't think its proper to blame a whole nation or country for the infamous actions of a very few individuals.
If I had a conquest 15, I'd have no second thoughts about sending it to young Greg, just to support his enthusiasm in the hobby. (I don't, so I can't , sorry Greg) I know Ive sent a couple of things via 1st class USPS to Australia and they arrived safely. I feel your pain and anger on your losses assuming they were incurred in E-bay transactions, and feel most of the blame should be placed on their (ebay) policies......not the kangaroos,
or the wonderful people of Australia.

Re: who has a cox 15 for sale?
I was looking for a Med. .15 and found a few that I considered over priced. I sold a new RC Med .15 couple years ago and only got about $50.00 new in case. That was then and now is now. Found out some Medallion had issues with con rods. I found a very nice Enya .15 for Magician ..15 stunter/ plus a fine OS Max 111 .15 Steel fine/ OS MAX 111 .19. Nice thing with these engines is they use a standard glow plug. Plus no plastic that rots from fuel over time.

Re: who has a cox 15 for sale?
on Ebay on average as I know I own per bidding on Ebay: (3) Mint 09's all went for over 80 bucks ea.
I have (2) Mint TD .15 Specials with the improved piston / cylinder go for over 120.00+
I have (1) MK II .15 cost me 172.00
The Medallions can go cheaper
(1) .09 - 55 to 75
(1) .15 - 70 to 120
(2) Space Hopper .049- 65+
(3) Sportsmans .15 - 75+
(1) Olympic .15 120+
All the above can go into a bidding war and bring in over 200 as most know.
I have bought all the above off ebay
Now if you could live with a (1) Queen Bee they go from 65 and up.
All are average mint or very clean most had no box some had manuals and tools
The beat up ones go for less if you don't mind the risk and clean up polish time.

Re: who has a cox 15 for sale?
Greg,
I totally understand wanting Cox engines, the problem is the ones you want are collectible which unfortunately is what sets the price for them.
At this stage I would encourage you to keep your mind open to all engines and not just Cox. Many other manufacturers made .15's and some are really good.
Over time engines will come your way. It just happens somehow. I also would suggest you get involved in a flying club wether it be CL or RC. Often times club members are more than happy to help a younger guy out in getting started. It's a good way to gain experience and help with the things you need.
Hopefully Fred can get you started.
