Look it up on youtube. I was on there tonight sort of surfing, and ran across this stuff. I would think that there is a lot on there about it if it is not real;rather odd I`m thinking.

It is not odd however that I did not hear of it before tonight Huh...

Lets hear it guys, what is actually known?

Have you heard....Planet nibiru Empty Re: Have you heard....Planet nibiru

Post  nitroairplane Thu Dec 08, 2011 1:37 am

The Nibiru collision is a supposed disastrous encounter between the Earth and a large planetary object (either a collision or a near-miss) which certain groups believe will take place in the early 21st century. Believers in this doomsday event usually refer to this object as Planet X or Nibiru. The idea that a planet-sized object could collide with or pass by Earth in the near future is not supported by any scientific evidence and has been rejected as pseudoscience by astronomers and planetary scientists.[1]

The idea was first put forward in 1995 by Nancy Lieder, founder of the website ZetaTalk. Lieder describes herself as a contactee with the ability to receive messages from extra-terrestrials from the Zeta Reticuli star system through an implant in her brain. She states that she was chosen to warn mankind that the object would sweep through the inner Solar System in May 2003 (though that date was later abandoned) causing Earth to undergo a pole shift that would destroy most of humanity. The predicted collision has subsequently spread beyond Lieder's website and has been embraced by numerous Internet doomsday groups, most of which link the event to the 2012 phenomenon. Although the name "Nibiru" is derived from the works of the late ancient astronaut writer Zecharia Sitchin and his interpretations of Babylonian and Sumerian mythology, Sitchin denied any connection between his work and various claims of a coming apocalypse.

Have you heard....Planet nibiru Empty ok.......

Post  Jaspur_x Thu Dec 08, 2011 6:57 pm

That explains it, my net connection has been impared by snow/ice on the dish/trees, and the youtube vids on the subject (all them that I clicked on anyway) were taking forever to load/play.
Then about 10min. after I posted this the power went out for the night due to the weight on the trees, while I was doing searches for info.
I thought it odd I hadn`t heard of it before, but I usually miss all the news anyway lol

Food for thought I guess, who knows.

Once upon a time, it was said "never will happen" about most of our daily lives today

I had heard of this some weeks ago and did some research. Go to the nasa website and type Niribu into the search form. There is an article about this. Pretty good read for those that enjoy this field.

They are cataloging quite a few planetary star systems. Finally beginning to be able to detect rocky planets. It seems like most of the first systems they've found have huge gas giants racing around their stars an Mercury-like distances. I used to read Spacedaily and Space.com a lot, but not lately.

Have you heard....Planet nibiru Empty cool

Post  Jaspur_x Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:18 pm

I don`t keep up on that field much. Really interesting, but not vey practical for me time wise or I would.

Maybe we just aren`t meant to understand too much about whats out there just yet, or be able to travel out there just yet either. I know this is throwing deep philosophy into overdrive, but I think we just aren`t meant to at this stage in the "evolution" of the human race.
Think about it, if there were some other beings out there just like us humans are right now, would we want them to be able to find us?
NO WAY, we can`t even get along with each other on our own planet!! we are a jealous, cowardly, destructive, mean breed of creature.
Some of us want peace, equality and brotherly love to encompass the globe, but that seems to be a minority throughout the history of the human race.

Humans might have been better off if we still didnt understand how to build boats or airplanes yet, since some of us still can`t understand peace or good will.

ok I will shut up about ll that now and go back to thinkng there is really neat stuff out there

Jaspur:

The very nature of our species has pretty well cast our fate. Restless and very unlikely to be satified with the status quo.

The opening scenes of Stanly Kubrick's 1968 "2001: A Space Odessy" make a profound statermrnt in this regard as it progresses from the distant past to the future where "Hal" the computer reigns. (do a search for info)

Sci-fi is a wonderful vehicle to explore man's nature.

Out my den window I see Mt. Rainier, WA @14,413 feet elevation in Washington's Cascade Moutain range.

Now THAT is one majestic mountain! (Especially on a clear and cold day like today)

Very much so. I have never witnessed firsthand, but those mountaintops that clear the clouds make for splendid views from what I have seen/heard.

My Sister-in-law lives near Rainier. Is that a volcanic mountain?
