Traxxas made some real junk when they first started out. There original Nitro hawk truck was a clunker. That thing would toss the connecting rod after about 1 gallon of fuel. There RTS nitro/electric boat (return to shore) sold good but suffered from mechanical breakdown eventually and rapidly. They have come a long, long ways. The company restructure in the early 90's helped tremendously. Now, you get quality RTR models from them that last quite a bit longer than there earliest endeavors.

Never did Indra. Seen the 1/5 scale FG stuff run up north, but never bought one.

If you get the chance to get one cheaply just do it.
They aren't the fastest car around but have great torque and are so tough,
The quality is great.
I have used one but am not lucky or rich enough to own one (yet).

Somebody gave me a Traxxas Nitro Stampede with a .15 a while ago. The engine is a major pain, I cannot get it to run worth dirt.

Do you still have it?
RC cars can be a pain sometimes especially when not broken in properly.

Yes, sitting idle in the closet. I replaced quite a few parts and gave it a thorough cleaning.

That's odd.
I never had problems like that with any engine I found with enough encouragement most will run.

Actually stuff that fast is inherently dangerous, thats alot of weight once it's up to speed. Any little bump or pebble and it's doing the death slide on it's lid or it is a missle. I watched a corner marshall at a big ROAR race almost get his scalp peeled from a airborn 1/8 scale buggy,, it required stiches. Out cold on his back.

Not exactly.

If you are going 100+ MPH and you hit a projectile with two 3 cell 5000mAh Lithium Polymer batteries onboard, there will be fire. Shocked

In that case the car is the projectile not the object that you hit. Find a different area to run your car.
