Curious as to your reaction, PV.
Is there something about you that we should know?

Ah, but with age comes experience and wisdom. I wouldn't want to give that up to become young again.

Ah, but what about if you could have both? The old "If I'd known then what I know now!"
THAT'S what I'd take!

Wilf:
"Age" and "wisom" are Siamese twins of sorts. One comes with the other. BTW, unless one gains wisdom in aging they are unlikely to age.

Also find that I am becoming less mature as I age and more clever I realise I may as well enjoy it.

No I think a good quality of life can be achieved by not being too "grown up".

Yet another point upon which differ.
Maturity to me means being self-sufficient and capable of realizing that there are things in life greater than oneself where immaturing holds that other people should support you BECAUSE it is owed to you. (As to why I have not a clue)
Witness a young child crying and ask yourself why.
Get back me when you have an answer.

Re: Today's Date
To me maturity is all a out how seriously you take yourself.
And I find when you tke yourself too seriously you become easily embarrassed, agitated somewhat paranoid. When you feel like this how is it possible to be happy?
I know people who consider playing with little engines immature I am no longer bothered. By these people be ause I am happy with what I do.To be honest any haters can't be enjoing their lives too much.

Sorry Indra, embassement, agitation, and paranoia are more chacteristic of the immature rather than the mature for the reasons that I described in my previous note. I am only very rarely embarassed because I have no reason to be, agitation is self-defeating and ineffective and paranoia serves no purpose for the mature individual. A mature person can subdue these emotions through introspection rather than overt behaviors.
If I took up needlepoint and some laughed, I wouldn't give a damn because I will do what I want to as long as on one is damaged in the process. I love country music whether anyone else does or not, I couldn't care less. Little engines, ditto.
In brief maturity is the self-confidence that problems may be resoloved by strong individual with the resolve to do so. I sleep very well at night because my mind is untroubled by the turmoils that you have erroroniously assigned assigned to the mature.
At your point in life I find it amazing that you don't seem to understand the importance of maturity and living life with with mature behaviors. Having done so I am very pleased with my life.

getting older/aging
I never minded getting older, however I do not care much for continued aging these last 20 years lol
Its not so bad for those who age like wine, but for those of us (like myself) that age like milk it`s not so groovey
P.s., happy birthday pv

Re: Today's Date
Less than three weeks ago I turned 70. I told my kids that I was not getting smarter...just older.
And, oh yes, I was around for the "first" Pearl Harbor day.
We have forgiven, but we should NEVER forget.

Re: Today's Date
Happy Birthday PV! Did you get the Happy Birthday popup that is sent to members on their birthdays? It is only sent once so if you ignored it or closed it then too bad. You won't get the popup if you didn't enter your birthday in your profile.
