The flu. Not a nice experience

The flu. Not a nice experience
I just don't get this stuff. Never had the shot . It's been decades since I felt this bad.
But here it is. Six and a half hours in the emergency room, two and one half hours waiting and four hours getting two IV bags and anti nausea meds. Not pleasant, but I came away with something. Always thinking, I thought this would make a great wind sock for my flying field if fitted on a low friction swivel.
After two days of misery, I may just survive. Thankfully I didn't have to use it on the way home.

Now I tend to understand, this is something the airlines put in the back sachel of the seats for the passenger behind you to puke in it instead of into your neck...
But what is this one used for?

Man, the flu is bad stuff. Anyone who's had the real thing might understand how people die from it. As of January 25th we've had 54 recorded deaths from flu in SC. The flu shot may not always prevent it but can make the difference between a few days of hard core misery and ten days.
Nice windsock, Cox. You'll have it in case you get a little queasy turning circles flying control line.

I had that mess too, it's what caused my pneumonia last Christmas I had never been that sick in my life. (Bandit)RknRusty wrote:Man, the flu is bad stuff. I always use the disinfecting wipes on the grocery cart handle. And DON'T touch your eyes and nose unless you've washed your hands and are aware of what/who you've touched since then. That's a hard habit to develop, but its good for avoiding colds too.getback wrote:... We had a run of people dying the first of winter think it was 54 in like 2 weeks here . I wish everyone would bet the shot. No, I'm not phobic, just considered immune compromised due to dialysis and artificial heart parts. Careful is a better word for it. People who think they got the flu from the shot already had something incubating when they got it. The nasal vaccine can make you feel crummy for a day or two, but works better. I'm not allowed to use that though. Lots of people call any illness the "flu." but when you really get it, you'll know it.
