Thanks Rod for the info. I checked E-Bay and ones available are used engines. They want too much for them. E-Bay had a new one, but he wanted way too much for it. A new one from OK Engines would be cheaper and better. Plus, I have one that needs a new piston and liner set to restore compression. Ordering from them would be a good way to fix it. The other has an old warped red plastic tank. A new one would restore that. Plus, I may get myself another .049 engine to boot. Smile

Alcohol is a good cutting fluid for drilling and manually tapping aluminum. Also works well for cleaning ally parts after polishing, as it seems to form a kind of a protective layer on the surface, so the parts stay shiny longer.

I use fluid meant for camping equipment fuel, I think it's just denaturated ethanol in a very high concentration.

Aluminium is a could heat conductor by it self. It doesn't really need a coolant but a lubricant to stop aluminium binding to the cutting tool.

For machining aluminium I use a home brewed mix of - paraffin (kersosene) 70%, turpentine 15% and olive oil 15% (or castor oil if I have it spare Wink

). This is used from a spray bottle sparingly - the turpentine will soften the paint on any machinery. By machining I am referring to milling, turning or using surfacing cutter.

For drilling and tapping I use tallow (cooking fat!). Applied to the drill or tap.

That's interesting to know Rod. I have bought three or four of them, all different in some way. This one came with the tank, a spare glow plug, wrench, and decals. I wonder how they compare with the Cox put togethers. If spring ever arrives, maybe I will be able to find out. 0 degrees right now with wind and no way I'm flippin' props.

Sorry I thought I got rid of that , was tring to put a weather report up , did do as I wanted lol!
