OK - To clarify that was October 9,10,11 -
It kinda sounds like we ought to bend the usual annual arrangement and have us try to make the Oct 9,10,11 dates BUT any date through the end of the year can count.
Hey, rules are off the table this year, right?
I will be flying in the RingMaster weekend, as well - pushing myself to get planes together for both weekends.
I have a couple RingMaster Jr.s - one has a Tee Dee .09 and is my go-to plane. Always flies nice, sometimes mows the lawn - ha...
Let's keep the convo alive and post results...
Take care, everyone -
Cheers,
PJ

Sounds good. Some of the Breezy Hill Flyers may be utilizing the rain/wing date to get in their second day of the Ringmaster Fly-a-Thon, so I'll be up there among them with my PT-19 QZ Flagship.

The Breezy Hill Flyers were aiming for Saturday and Sunday as both a Wrap-Up for the Ringmaster Fly-a-Thon, as well as the Fly-It-If-You-Got-It PT-19 Days. But with Hurricane Delta threatening rain, we're gonna officially move both to tomorrow (Oct. 9th).
It'll also be combined with a bit of field work, so should be a busy/fun day.
I may do a bit of freelance flying in the front yard through the weekend, weather-allowing.
My PT-19QZ is all staged up and ready to rock...though I may make the guys a couple windshields if I get in the mood.

"OK....NEWER new plan!
Looks like the rains may hold off, and the Breezy Hill Flyers are gonna be doing work on the field today, so there may be some flying going on:
The Ringmaster Fly-a-Thon Wrap Up
&
The Cox PT-19 Fly-It-If-You-Got-It Day
The Flyers DID get in some circle turning Friday, pushing our Fly-a-Thon total into the 60's.
Some PT-19's also got bounced around in the breeze."

Well, let's see who's listening - Can we have a 2022 PT-19 Fly-a-Thon???
Hey everybody - a lot of events got the stuffing knocked out of them from those last couple of years of Covid.
Can we muster and hold a PT-19 Fly-a-Thon this year?
Up here in the US Northeast, things are cooling off.
We just had two weekends for the RingMaster Fly-a-Thon, great weather yesterday when the wind died about 3:30 - 4pm.
We still have a bunch of weeks to get our acts together.
If there isn't anything else in the works to hold the event - I might have "missed the memo" - can we shoot for:
Fri/Sat/Sun 21-23 Oct 2022 OR
Fri/Sat/Sun 28-30 Oct 2022 OR
do as the RingMaster Fly-a-Thon does and make it both weekends in case of weather interference.
What do y'all think?
Cheers,
PJ

2022 Fly-It-If-You-Got-It PT-19 28-30 Oct
Well, we have 3 or 4 flyers so far, sounds good.
And I hope the other Ian can make it, whoever that is(!) The more the merrier. Generally speaking, of course.
I'll drag my planes out and get some early static pics going.
I hope my fuel is still Ok from the last one I flew - it has been a while.
My glow plug igniter is a homebuilt using eBay parts as regulator and Volt/Current monitor, any old LiPo that may not be airworthy but great for mundane tasks like starting an .049.
Cheers,
PJ
PS if my memory serves correctly I believe it was a three day event including Friday - correct me if I am wrong, and I will self-fact-check, as well.

Still waiting for someone to post me a PT-19 so I can get involved.
I assume the 1/2A core-flute replicas will qualify?

Well, you have an idea there. Some day I hope to have the time and funds to just fly over with a couple of them so we can fly at your local field - that would be wild.
I have not been to your part of the country, was on your east coast back in 1995 for a while, great trip.
It didn't occur to me we might need some rules - my boat would be "for" coroplast - let's see what the consensus is. I'm figuring "yay" to that from our humble group.
Cheers,
PJ

Ixnay on the Ulesray. Keep 'em to the minimum or we'll all just get overwhelmed with a hunderd different suggestions. Just make a day (or two) of flying to honour the Cox PT-19. Original Cox, Balsa or coroplast. Doesn't matter because there's no prizes or awards. 1/2A or smaller would be my only thought, and encourage evenyone to share their experience on here. Lots of pictures, videos and stories.

International Cox PT-19 Fly It If You Got It Day 2022
For the "International Cox PT-19 Fly It If You Got It Day", I flew my "put together from parts" PT-19 for the first time today.
I only had 10 feet of coroplast for a runway. It could barely stagger into the air in that distance, but flew fine once up to speed.
Ready for takeoff.
All slimed up and ready to go again.
[b]I also flew this balsa PT-19. It is some 4 oz. lighter than the plastic one, and was off the ground in 3-4 feet.

i think outerzone have plans for a balsa pt 19. dont know if it is a close clone of the real cox pt 19 or not. i havent seen a real cox pt19 for about 50 years since some adhd kid who doesnt listen or learn pile drove one straight down into a concrete cricket pitch. and believe me, that was one not even Bob could have restored. I would love a real cox one now, but the outerzone one is as close as i will get.
