Tough find. Sometimes I wonder if the box is worth more than the engine in it.

My collecting strategy has been to start with a nice engine or model, maybe it has no box or some other flaw. Keep an eye out for a better specimen and upgrade when I can then sell the old one to offset the cost. That way the cost is spread over time and its fun buying, trading and selling. Sometimes you find a real deal. Never sell anything without a reserve or BIN or you will get hosed sometimes. Most of my collection is NIB now.

My problem with NIB is the way I want to display my engines. I want them to be seen and not twist tied in a box. I want them on nice stands or at the very least wire ones. Now, I will say, a deal is a deal, as is the case with my killer bee. Couldn't pass that up. But for me, boxes are just something else you've gotta take care of to keep the value up. And it's just paper. Also, I like to know my engines are runners. So that would defeat the NIB anyway.

I do wish you luck on your mission to find the package. That will certainly be a hard one. I see the bubble packs for sale from time to time, just keep an eye out. If you find one from something else, I believe you could print a reproduction insert for it.
