Re: SO EXCITED!!!!
Godsey:Yes, that's because the greatest movement comes when the rod is in the LOWEST hole where the mechanical advantage is greater. The reciprocal is true too.

Is there a way to lengthen the rod?

Re: SO EXCITED!!!!
Cut it and solder a piece of brass tubing to splice it back together at the correct length.

Re: SO EXCITED!!!!
Flew it again. It ended up a bit tail heavy again. But I did a loop and was goin around and just dropped a little to low and touched down. Not used to the re activeness of the controls. Went to fly it again and the nose fell off. Epoxy was not completely set. Do it all again tomorrow

Re: SO EXCITED!!!!
Don't ya hate that.
I broke my Li'l Satan's tail today. It's BW kept cutting out every time it was upside down. Frustrating.
I flew the Stuntman23 with the TD and the bladder tank. It cuts off inverted too, but it flies like a screaming demon doing flat laps and loops. That bladder still needs work. I'm ordering a wedge tank for it that I can run with backplate pressure. Maybe that will work better. I'm getting tired of screwing with the bladder. I also mounted a wedge tank on the Jumpin Bean. I'm going to try it with the Medallion tomorrow. I despise crashing, but when I don't fly but once every 3 weeks and my engines act up, it happens. I made a video, but I promise you don't want to see it.

I think I do want to see it. I have a .o51 TeeDee that I am going to put on a stuntman. I will run it real rich to slow it down.

Rusty,
You know all of us would have been alright without seeing the vid until you said we didn't want to see it. Now I know I REALLY want to see it.

So true.
Re: SO EXCITED!!!!
Well, it is almost unanimous, close enough. You have to show the video.
Please?

Re: SO EXCITED!!!!
Beware... It will HAUL ASS! It won't need a runway, mine jumps off the ground at full flying speed, the wheels never turn. Tell me how you fuel it. I can't get mine to run worth a carp any way except flat loops. I have lots of great ideas, but they work much better in the shop than in the air.Godsey3.0 wrote:I think I do want to see it. Re: SO EXCITED!!!!
I broke the tail booms on my Satan yesterday when my Black Widow cut off when I flipped it upside down doing a figure 8. Just a minor repair, but frustrating. I don't know what my problem is but lately none of my engines will behave when I try to do stunts.
They all cut off in mid maneuver. It was a freshly rebuilt one too. Maybe I have too many projects on the table at once.

If you got a lot of projects going on and not a lot of time the chances are that you could be rushing some or maybe you glue is a bit old.
Re: SO EXCITED!!!!
Rusty, are you flipping inverted at the end of a tank or a full tank? or does it matter on the tank level when they cut out inverted? It has to be a fuel slosh problem somewhere.

Well I think there would be a problem if you were flying inverted with low fuel.
Re: SO EXCITED!!!!
I think it's a matter of fuel being pulled by horizontal(yaw) gee's and fuel circiling the outside edge of that tank and getting foamed or sloshed or something away from the pickup intermittely. A clunk pickup system that has a dead spot where the clunk doesent quite follow the fuel or tank edge smoothly.
FWIW.

I only build one at a time. It hit the ground hard. I'm messing with too many engines at once.nitroairplane wrote:RknRusty wrote:I broke the tail booms on my Satan yesterday when my Black Widow cut off when I flipped it upside down doing a figure 8. Here's why:
I wanted the needle on the inboard side so it won't bend in an inverted landing. Plus there is barely enough room to get the screws in the firewall in the normal upright position. Routing the tube around the venturi, I smashed it at the nipple and starved it. That explains the 1.5 turns it ran with on the NV. I'm holding it in the position it was assembled in relation to the front end next to it.
I'm going to put it back together like i don't like it, with the needle on top. The mounting screws will be close to the firewall edge, but it'll work. Ang the tube will be in the normal stunt position like this:
As far as the BW on the Jumpin Bean, I think it just has a crankcase air leak. That engine has been bad about that since it came out of the box. I'll rebuild it and re-Permatex it. It ran great since May like that, so I can live with that. The last time it flew was the day Microflitedude came over and we flew it.
