Hunkering down for the storm

Hunkering down for the storm
I've got the Vince Guaraldi Trio-"A Charlie Brown Christmas" playing on the workshop stereo.. We're forecasted to get 10+ inches of snow in Northern Rhode Island... with most of it coming overnight. I did my "stores" (as they say in these parts...) and picked up some ice-melt, an "Italian-seasoned" Rotisserie chicken.. some "Caramel" flavored eggnog, spiced rum and Irish cream.
I dragged out the snow-blower when I got home.. and got it running. It usually starts 1st or 2nd pull on full-choke and a couple pushes of the primer bulb and 1/2 throttle... and would have started... if I hadn't given a few extra "squirts" with the primer-bulb... Finally after 12 or so pulls, it kicked and smoked off the flood. (hey... it was pretty cold out )
This late 1960's vintage machine cost me $300 dollars 2 years ago (delivered) with a brand new carburetor. It runs great! It's a "Snow Buster 724 (7 h.p. Tecumseh 24" width) has a "paddle-wheel" impellor and is built like a TANK! The only thing on it made out of plastic is the fuel tank.

Re: Hunkering down for the storm
We've had moderate snow all day on Long Island.
Only a couple inches on the ground so far.
Hope we can bleed off a few more before it
hits you Roddie, although it looks like
you're well prepared.

Re: Hunkering down for the storm
Bob, Right now.. we have about the same amount of snow on the ground; as in your photo. I hope it get's colder soon and stays that way.. until it stops tomorrow (wishful thinking)... a "Wintery-mix" is probably what we're gonna' get. I've got a band-gig from 5-9 Sunday evening. Snow and ice make those logistics real fun.
I want SLEDDING SNOW!! This is the most fun I've ever had in 35 seconds...

It is Jim, I've done work at Luke AFB in August. We had to work nights so we could survive and it was still miserable.
I don't know how you do it.

Re: Hunkering down for the storm
You treat it like a reverse blizzard. Go from one air conditioned place to the next and spend as little time as possible outside.Cribbs74 wrote:JPvelo wrote:
