Cox O Forty-Five throttle
Wanted a brass throttle slide for a Cox O Forty-Five engine out of a Cox Special tether car. Mine has the tab broken off.

If you feel mildly adventurous you can cut a new one out of fresh material. Measure the thickness and go from there.

Yes I agree... You could trace the broken slide onto a square piece of sheet stock. First; drill the correct size hole (guage the hole for size; using the shank-end of a drill bit, to find the correct inside diameter) Carefully cut-out the part after drilling the hole. Sand edges with an emery-board, to smooth and remove sharp edges/burrs.pkrankow wrote:If you feel mildly adventurous you can cut a new one out of fresh material. Note: sometimes it's better when drilling thin sheet-stock; to "sandwich" it (with clamps) in between 2 pcs. of thin wood to keep it from deforming when the drill bit "breaks through". You will get a cleaner hole this way... then you can trace the outline and cut out the part afterward.

Thanks Guys. I guess I always new I was going to have to make one but I was hoping for that "Hey There's one of those hanging on a nail in the shed" miracle replies that I read in magazines. Cheers to all. Dave
