Re: Best rechargeable(or not) glow igniter?
That's the one I bought on eBay and never received. Paypal refunded my money. Later I decided I wanted a C size because I was worried the D was too heavy for a sideways engine.pkrankow wrote:One of there?

There are also adapters to use rechargeable batteries if you want.

OK.
I never considered the sideways engine bit for these things, I have always used the clothespin type, although I do have a connector for my battery box like the self-contained jobs have.

Presumably Rusty has a charger for those rechargable alkalines then.

i've never liked nicad glow drivers, i'd tried them and its one more thing to charge, i've been using a power panel and a 12v gel cell, like forever, early eighties. I really like my clip, it was sold thru Hobby Shack (Hobby People) well made, could use it on 1/2A to .60's+

Re: Best rechargeable(or not) glow igniter?
I have experience with sideways mounts and inverted. The sideways mount, the igniter hangs a tad, but it still stays connected. The release is easy though. On inverted it's a PITA unless the plane is started upside down. If started inverted then the igniter likes to stick and then you are fiddling with it to try and release it while the prop is spinning at 10K an inch from your hand...
This is with the twist lock igniter and not the snap lock.

Not rechargeable. I changed my mind a page ago and wanted one with disposable alkalines.SuperDave wrote:Ron:

Re: Best rechargeable(or not) glow igniter?
I had one of those made by Thunder Tiger, but it rotted and broke into bits in a month, so I re-made it with a wooden clothespin.Mark Boesen wrote:it was pretty much like this:

P.S. I know the title says rechargeable, but that's way over now. Sorry if that stumped anyone.

I'm not entirely sure about that...replacing, gaining proper function, and closing it up like new can be just about impossible on some devices...SuperDave wrote:
