A REALLY Big Black Widow !!!
A very dangerous (to my Toy Account) Black Widow !!! Span looked to be about 5 feet.
It only say on a table for a moment, the was leaned against a back wall...WHEW ! THAT was a close one !

Super cool, sinister looking and sports black widows. Nice!
I love scale 1/2A stuff. I wish I had all the plans.
What exactly is it, Kim?
OOps wait, is it twin TD's? Bees?

I don't think they are Coxes. 5ft wingspan, and looks like some different mufflers.
Re: A REALLY Big Black Widow !!!
No...I was joking about the damage it would do to my toy account if I HAD bought it. It was pretty large..about 5 feet in span, and looked to have a couple big four-stroke engines powering it. It only sat on a table for a short time, then was moved to the back wall. Don't know anything else about it. It was VERY nicely built, model after one of my favorite planes.

Northrop P-61 Black Widow. Also one of my favourites. And it's close cousin, the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. Remember when you'd get two Guilows Strato-Streaks , piece the two fuselages together, and TA-DA, instant P-38.
Any idea on the motors?
Re: A REALLY Big Black Widow !!!
Nope...wish now that I'd asked...but I had "Swap Meet Fever" and was just sure that there were treasures flying out the front door as I gawked at planes I wasn't gonna buy!

Hey Travis,
Not much 1/2A stuff, but still worth the drive. I got a NIP glowstarter for $5, a set of 18 X 60 steel flying lines for $5 also. Also stocked up on servo wire from the two venders that had set up.
As always, had a big time visiting with folks. Met up with a guy I call "Stuka Willie" (sold me a Cox Stuka Project last year) and whined at him about the Tee Dee .010 & .020 I missed last year because I ran out of cash. I was loaded for bear this year, but there just weren't a lot of the engine deals I wanted.
There DID seem to be a lot of good deals on finished aircraft, but my shop and storage building already look like I've got some hording disorder, so I stood my ground on buying any more planes.
I'm planning on hitting the one in Mt. Vernon on 12/4, so let me know if you want to jump in and ride along. Gonna shoot up I-55, and across on I-64 and back.
There's also one scheduled in Belleville (think you sent me the info) on 2-19-12, and I'll probably make that one too. That's the one where I bought a beat up Bird of Time sailplane in 1999 that's still packing cameras around the sky these days.
Have a safe trip back!
Later! Kim
