Western Kentucky Stunt Championships Video 1
Survived two days of excellent Round-n-Round with Allen Brickhaus and the guys over in Paducah! Got to meet Andrew and take a break at McDonalds. He got stuck in construction traffic on his way up from Murray, and arrived after the wrap-up...which came earlier than I'd thought it would. We still had a good visit, and I hope it was worth the gas he spent on his little trip.
I'm pretty well shot, with a sunburn in spite of my umbrella, sun-block, and all the cloudy skies, so I'll just stick some photos on here. Lots of beautiful planes and great people !! I'm gonna try to do a "Video Blend" when I get back up to speed. I didn't have a good spot to witness the shape of the patterns, but think I have some good general footage.

Thanks, Kim.
I was about to ask if nobody flew profiles, then finally scrolled down and saw some. Do they all fly in the same events, or are profiles flown separately from full fuse models? Appearance must be judged differently, or scored lower. Is Robert Storick in any of those pictures?
Looking forward to more after you rest up.

Re: Western Kentucky Stunt Championships Video 1
It was certainly worth the trip. I had never seen construction of that magnitude on I-24 at that location, but ended up in 6 miles of a one lane traffic jam. I am sorry that I missed the rest of the flying and that Kim and I didn't have more time to chew the fat, but we had a good visit and it was great to put a face on a name.Kim wrote:............... BTW, the pictures we have of Kim don't do justice -- he's a big guy. I'm about 5'9"+ and spent most of my time looking way up.

Here's the first video. Gonna try to crank out about three, hopefully without it getting too monotonous.
I got bounced by You Tube a while back for copyright infringement for using a Fleetwood Mac song on my Brodhead Video, so the slide show will be a silent affair!

There were several different Event/Classes...I've got the rule sheet here somewhere, and figure Allan will be posting results on the club's site. The awards ceremony took a little bit of time, but I may post video of it for the benefit of the guys who are really into the contest.
Everyone was running around, so I got very few "posed photos" but I may have Robert on video with is plane, in which case, I'll post a capture frame.

Great video. I watched it full screen on the Tube. I pay a lot of attention to the pilots' body positions and footwork.

Re: Western Kentucky Stunt Championships Video 1
Thanks Rusty! Yeah, a lot of the guys really "set themselves" for each move. I'm amazed at the way some hold their handles, going from vertical to horizontal and back. I've always tried to fly with the handle vertical.RknRusty wrote:Great video. I watched it full screen on the Tube. I pay a lot of attention to the pilots' body positions and footwork.

I don't see how it can possibly matter on the plane end, but I've noticed that too. I switch from vertical to horizontal, but never knew I did it until Wayne pointed it out, then I saw it on a video.Kim wrote:...I'm amazed at the way some hold their handles, going from vertical to horizontal and back. I go horizontal on inverted only. It's just the way it happened for me.

Re: Western Kentucky Stunt Championships Video 1
Thanks Ron...yeah, until now, I don't think I ever thought about how I hold the handle. Guess I'll run some video and see what I do.
The BIG danger now, as I see it, is for me to avoid the temptation of looking at the handle while I'm flying! Figure I might as well run down to Doug's shop and get some CA to be prepared ahead of time !!
