Cox Engine of The Month
Ronald Valentine TD 049 Diesel

Ronald Valentine TD 049 Diesel
This is built using some Cox components but as far as I can see - only the crankcase (which is modified), the piston and conrod. The NVA looks like it may be original.
It still looks "Coxish".
The backplate is brilliant. Easy to undo with squared slots.
The venturi is custom made to suit diesel fuel. The inlet is smaller.
Here are the all round views.
and here it is ready to be started.
That is a 7x6 propellor. I also decided to use my new toy to start it. My hands and fingers ached after gardening this weekend!

Cool Ian,
Looks like a .049 version of the .15 MKII. Can't view the video though. That's the second time in 2 days....... Both of them from Europe too.

Re: Ronald Valentine TD 049 Diesel
I will be converting this engine to RC for some more "Round the Pole" flying but it still needs breaking in.
The delrin carburettor body is too weak for the job - so I adonised one of the cnc jobbies to mach the crankcase.
