All packed up and no place to go

All packed up and no place to go
All packed up and no place to go. Three planes, fuel, tools, flight box, first aid kit, camera, big green and yellow blobs on the weather radar...
As detailed in the Shoestring thread this week, I think I have a flyable setup ready to be test flown. Even a new neighbor who wants to pit for me. Mother nature has different ideas. Oh well, it's still early, maybe it'll clear out. I hope you dudes are getting some play time.

Bummer, I did fly some 1/2A Thursday and Friday evening. Yesterday I hung drywall then a major storm rolled in. Today is high winds with another storm forcasted this afternoon. Tomorrow I drive to Abilene with Tuesday Flightcheck. Grass needs cutting too as does my mini field. So..........I feel your pain.

Dude, Try Kansas! If you've heard Chicago is the "Windy City", I think Kansas has it beat! That's why I'm able to build so much...It's too windy, often. But, I can drag my stuff out in a moment's notice, when it gets nice!
I feel your pain, too. (Ew, I hate saying that!)

"I feel your pain" Yeah, you have to say it with a certain scratchy voice to deliver the fullest effect of sincerity.
Ah, it's okay, it could clear up later, but I have Tuesday and Thursday too if the weather is good. I was just looking forward to having a pit man. I'll hang out in the shop and make some spare props. I'm down to my last 5-3/4" MA for the BFS-II. I noticed the pad behind the Shoestring tank had compressed, so I cut some rubber straps(tourniquets I use at the clinic when I put my needles in), and put them under the metal strap around the tank. Not only tightening it, but further isolating it from vibes.
Always stuff to tinker with.

Re: All packed up and no place to go
Yeah, I got shot down by weather too. Was gonna do trim flights on my hybrid "Sin-Bot" sailplane, but the winds just kept on climbing. Nothing like yesterday with sun and calm air (forecast was for storms). Sin-Bot is an .020 floater, so I got to have some good air to mess with it.
Also backed out of test-flying my Uncle Wayne's Ace Sky Scout. He's got it ready to go, but I DID NOT want to be driving back home, wishing I'd waited for a better day. So we took a few photos, with Patti agreeing to model the plane.
By the way, the "84" on the Scout's fin represents Wayne's age this year !!!!
Gonna hoof it off to Memphis next weekend for a get-away, so the Sky Scout is gonna have to cool it's heels for a while.

Old Wayne's looking pretty good. Looking forward to a flight report. It never slacked up today, so Tuesday is my next launch window. I'm dying to see this Shoestring perform. If you saw my last post in the SS thread, I'm really thinking I'm close to what I've been trying for. It was riching and leaning smartly right on cue as I tilted it up and level during my test run Thursday.

I hope I look that good at 84. Tough luck Kim. We had Tornado activity all around us today. I should have put something in the air and taken a picture with me shaking my fist at the clouds.

I hope you guys get some good weather here shortly. Looks like I got a few days of storms ahead. REALLY wish I'd gotten the gear out yesterday !!!
