Outside sale of some good stuff a fw here might want
On Stuka Stunt is a 70 year old gent listing to sell off stuff than he can not use in rest of his life
prices and items seem reasonable
I am buying one of his OS 40 CL engines

I went ahead and got one of his LA 40's, thanks for the alert Fred. That's one forum I never go to. I'm going to try in on one of my vintage combat planes, I want something more modern and reliable, yet light....

I sort of hope the rest of his stuff is things I don't want/need... but somehow I suspect he has a BUNCH of cool items to liquidate and my hobby funds will dwindle fast.....grin
I lost out on a few NIB OS LA engines recently cuz the bidding got well over 100$$

While the LA .40 is fair, the LA .46 is superior. Without knowing the age of the LA .40's he's selling, they could be the ones with the 3rd boost port. I have LA .40's that were the natural finish and were the ones that didn't do too well. These were horrific for stunt runs and just ran away. The LA .46 weight is identical to the .40 with the ability to be propped bigger and it uses less fuel.

I'm not suggesting the LA .40 is a bad engine, it's just not like the LA .46. The LA .40 never really caught on due to lack of acceptance and this was pretty much brought on by my above comments. It's poor acceptance and lack of sales caused it to be the first of the LA line to get axed. The price difference at the time was very little between the two engines and most opted for the .46 due to it's quality of stunt run it offered. Unfortunately now since the demise of the LA .46, I'm seeing that the LA .46 is selling for well over a $100. A insane price for a cheaply made engine.

I was lucky to find a LA .46 N.I.B. at a swap meet last year for $35. I'm planning on putting it in a Nobler ARF when I'm at the point of not crashing too much. But, I'll probably buy the venturi spraybar assembly and get rid of the remote needle, and possibly the FP backplate to get rid of the plastic backplate. It just depends on whether I want to spend additional money on the engine. The remote needle works, but I found that if the engine doesn't start on the first flip, the fuel drains back from the venturi and I have to put a finger over it to draw fuel back up. The metal backplate is just for looks. A guy at my field has a few of the needles on hand, and he might have the backplate also. Sells them to club members at cost.

Mr. Herman Green is quick to communicate
Prices are good
Engines are AS DESCRIBED
and the shipping / packaging are excellent
I have a few more of his stuff coming but pretty much blew my hobby engine budget for this year and beginning to get near" TOO many engines, not enough time to build models for all of them" status
Combat
Sport
Stunt
Speed
Sort of glad I resit the urge to do roundy roundy cars and boats....BUT I still dig LIVENS snow sled...tho I get very little white stuff here, his model is just too cool to not have in the someday bucket list
