I did speak with Randy at Witch's Brew and we have now inserted a link to his website on our fuel guide.

Anyone tried this:

Re: Source for 25% fuel with pure castor?
That's the stuff, thanks JP. And here's the 25% nitromethane/pure castor I was looking for.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-qt-25-NITRO-HYPERFUEL-1-2A-049-020-010-25-PURE-CASTOR-OIL-/251261786156?pt=US_Radio_Control_Control_Line&hash=item3a805e982c
25% is more oil than I've used, other than running in my MP Jet. I've usually used 20% castor, but I'll try this fuel.

Re: Source for 25% fuel with pure castor?
Was using this today:
https://i.imgur.com/PXGMo07.jpg
20% nitro, 14% synthetic/castor mix, added 10% castor.
Here's the results:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciWAsxYbt7I&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Decent run and the exhaust oil is the cleanest I've ever seen it. Probably going to buy some of the arctic stuff when this runs out.

Your Tee Dee always sounds great. I'd say you've come a long way since last Spring, wouldn't you.
If you looked any more relaxed out there I'd expect to see you yawn in the middle of those lazy 8s.
Are you using the increasingly popular bathmat stooge?

It's the "old t-shirt bungeed to a milk crate stooge". Same basic principal. I have come a long way! I'm thinking of building twin with pressure fed reedies. Btw, the tee dee in that video set me back ten bucks at the local hobby shop. A one hour de-gum job and she was good to go!

What of Fox Missile Mist? Same mix as what Glow Plug Boy made. Missile Mist has been around for a long time too. Bit expensive at $15.65 per quart or $43.75 per gallon.

Fox is proud of it, that's fur sure.
I wonder the shipping charges. I have a new Fox Stunt 35 that I plan to feed Duke's (5% nitro, 29% castor) for at least the first gallon as per the directions. I haven't called them yet since they won't list shipping charges.

Re: Source for 25% fuel with pure castor?
Brodak offers 5% and 10% nitro with several oil compositions. They sell it in quarts. This avoids a hazmat fee.
They offer 11.5% Synthetic and 11.5% Castor
29% Castor
23% Synthetic
Each of those oil combinations come in either 10% or 5% nitro.

I used SIG fuel for years and loved it, here's a chart for adding oil to a 20% oil fuel.

Quarts may apply to this list since, if I recall correctly, there is no hazmat fee on a quart.

Re: Source for 25% fuel with pure castor?
But they can't use USPS, they have to use a ground-only courier like UPS Ground, so that might cost more. I think a phone call or e-mail is probably in order. If no one finds out by the time I need more fuel(soon), I'll get in touch with them. I'm on my last 8 ounces of GPB.Godsey3.0 wrote:No hazmat on quarts...

Many may hate me for this.

I believe Brodak does a flat rate of $10. Cribbs had a thread on it earlier.

If one was to use Missile Mist, I would certainly suggest bumping your oil content up. I believe the oil content is around 18%. I used Missile Mist a lot early on. It was fun however. Using it with castor added would certainly do your engine good. If your not already aware, the fuel is purple. I don't know of the current blend, but the older blend I was using was like grape soda. It had a great smell as well. You had purple hands and clothes.Ken

I read that it was 17% castor, so 1.3 ounces will boost a quart to 20%. That was my usual routine with the 17% Glowplugboy. The picture shows two different colors. Maybe you can choose from Grape or Orange Crush.

I long for the days of "Power Mist" in the green label quart cans.
Saved my paper route money to a lot of those many years ago.

Maybe I am being lazy, maybe I just don't want to make a phone call. Maybe Brodak has other things I need besides fuel....
I ordered 4 quarts of Brodak's fuel, and some other odd bits.

Be sure and let us know how it tastes. It might be worth that extra couple of bucks.
I'll be buying fuel next week. I'll have to ponder over it. I need some 25% for the little ones and some 10% for the Thunder Tiger. Whatever I get will all come from the same dealer.
