Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
I cannot remember if I put in a sticker or not. If I did the only one could be the Cox powered sticker. Did someone else put that in? It probably was not me.
Well darn. That is going to bug me until I can remember if I did or not. Only others that could have put it in is Wingit, Kim, or Andrew.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
I figured Kim would've been the Skunk Works sticker. I like the Who sticker. It's okay if it remains a mystery until it's all over. I kind of like it that way.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
Was there anything special about it's mailing box? (not the little green one, the large white one) I had forgotten to give Rusty the box, so I mailed it to him - That was about a week ago, and it has not shown up.

Hi Matt,
I put the prop in that box when I mailed it out.
Nothing special there.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
In that case, it'll hit the mail tomorrow, headed for Bob in Naples. Hopefully it'll be there by the Weekend.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
It's in the mail. I have a tracking number so we can't lose it. That was a great highlight in my hobby career. One of these days we'll get all the pics and vids posted.

Oh boy! I can't wait either. Have you figured out what you're going to do with it yet?

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
I have spent a lot of time thinking about flying it R/C but I think I am too chicken. The two 1/2A planes I have ready to go both have the engines on the front so the prop can easily contact the ground on landing. I think the thing that helped me decide no to do it was looking at the signature sheet and seeing it almost 2/3's filled in. I don't want to be the one to break the prop at this point.
It my daughter can find her video camera and let me borrow it I will definitely run it on at least two engnes and see if I can at least get it dizzy.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
I think Kim's BOT qualifies as RC doesn't it? But in any case, I know how you feel, Bob. That's why my one flight was such a yawner. I didn't want to bust it either. But the force is strong with the TP. It shall be safe and survive in your expert hands.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
And finally, here is a picture of the basic set up I used to run the prop on the Tee Dee.
I have really enjoyed having the prop in S W Fla. It will be on its way to lovely Homestead, FL early next week.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
The videos are not spectacular by any stretch of the imagination; but, perhaps it is amusing to watch me try to hold a plane with a spinning prop and a tachometer in one hand while trying to dig a camera out of my pocket and snap a shot with the other hand. I did not get the shot but I did tach the run at about 14K RPM.
Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this. It was really fun.

Re: Where has the Traveling Prop Been?
Thanks for the video, Bob. So what did the tach say? If yours is like mine, every time the engine sees it coming whenever I'm trying to impress someone, the engine starts stumbling. I do like seeing your plumbing setups.fit90 wrote:

14K on the reedie. Neither of the engines liked the bigger prop. Too much of a load for them. I guess they are just a couple of babies.

Yeah, that's about what the RR1 turned with it too. The Li'l Satan was too tame for comfort in the circle that day.fit90 wrote:14K on the reedie. Neither of the engines liked the bigger prop. Too much of a load for them. I guess they are just a couple of babies.
