Tach Race 2013 Results---Engines on their way home
Finished the Tach Race about an hour ago and here are the results. Like last year, there were surprises in both directions of performance, and I'll have a much fuller note following up.
I can promise that I did my level best to give everyone a fair run. The shop was kept at 'shirt-sleeve' temps the whole time, and having the indoor test stand was a GIANT improvement over last year's race.
I just held a drawing for for the engines generously donated by Bernie at Cox International, and Matt at Ex Model Engines. My friend Patti graciously volunteered to be the "Official Drawer", and here are the results.
Bernie's "Terminator" Engine.....Bob Dickerson
Bernies Gift Certificates are awarded across the Classes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placing.
Matt's Unlimited Entry was won by drawing by......Leanna Wescott
Matt's "Taipan Serpent" was won by drawing by.......Wayne Seivers
Matt's "Black Lynx" was won by drawing by...........Ron Cribbs
Matt's 12/12 "Christmas Bee" goes by drawing to.....Mark Boesen
Since the "Outlaw .020" was sort of a last-minute deal, the winners of that competition get bragging rights on this lap. If I do the Race again next year, I'll be glad to include these little guys.
Anyway, gonna take a break. I'll be back on tonight with more engine photos, and will try to get the "Class Photo" taken tomorrow, followed by the return of these little machines to there rightful owners.
Later, Kim

Good work, thanks Kim, and all who helped make it happen.
So I'm 6th out of 13 unlimiteds, barely a tick above average, I'll have to try harder next year. At least I broke 18k. Ron Cribbs kicked everyone's ass, the only .049 over 20k. Damn, Ron! Good building.

Re: Tach Race 2013 Results---Engines on their way home
Thanks Kim, you're a hell of a trooper.
For my meek unlimited offering, I sure got a nice booby prize.
Glad I entered. Thanks also to Bernie and Matt and Patti.

Re: Tach Race 2013 Results---Engines on their way home
Well,
Thanks guys, to be honest I thought my mouse might place, but I didn't think my unlimited would. The .020 was just a fluke I pulled that off the front of my "little gem" and sent it in lol. I guess Bee cranks are tougher than I thought.
Anyway, thank you Kim for your willingness to run the race and doing so even when you were sick. It speaks volumes to your character. Also thank you Bernie and Matt for the support and prizes.
Wooooo! That made my day.

Re: Tach Race 2013 Results---Engines on their way home
Dang, lats year's 7th place unlimited by Matt-EX beat my 2013 6th by 120 rpm. Okay, I'm taking it too seriously, ignore the crazy man. This is the way to make a forum community exciting. I love it.

Re: Tach Race 2013 Results---Engines on their way home
Thanks to my procrastination and a dead battery in flight box and tach (late Sunday the day before i need to ship) using what time i had to repair my DNF mouser. I never ran my unlimited, tightened up head a little and off it went. Well surprise, surprise, it turned almost the exact same RPM a year later 18470 vs. 18500! Thats reading the tach!
Re: Tach Race 2013 Results---Engines on their way home
