Re: Want to buy 1 Top Flite 6x3
just wanted to let you guys know that i am still working on molding this prop...........the priority shifted a bit though to the Cox 6x3 grey series which will most likely yield a much more modifiable prop for those interested.
the TF is a greaqt blade shape, but what makes it exceptional is the fact that it unloads pitch slightly in the air which is what makes it work so well with a Cox 049 TD or otherwise. so the glass version may just not be worth the effort.
the grey props however leave a lot of trimming to the user to find that sweet spot.

Good stuff Mike, did my prop ever show up? I had a couple more nice ones pop up after I sent the other one.
Can't wait to see the finished product.

I can't believe how brittle the batch of Top Flight props I bought on Ebay are. If you want the 3 I mentioned that are new (5 1/4x3, 5 1/4x4, 6x4) PM me an address and I'll send them gratis. Even after an overnight soak I have broken a couple of these new looking props putting them on the plane.

um...ok. Recycled padded mailers are cheap to send.
If I can't fly with these then the chance to get clones later seems like a good use for them.
PM me the address.

TF props
I always did and still do prefer the top flite props, they held up better for me than did any other props. They are hard to find these days or I would use no other props at all so I`m in if they become available.
If you can`t get 1 from the other guys I will lend you 1 for the repro cause.
ADMIN: tell them they are for collection`s sake/display only and are to be given out to the site`s "collectors" as if trophies etc

Re: Want to buy 1 Top Flite 6x3
well thx to this site i have the 6x3 i needed
even a 6x4 from a friend here in my hometown.
the generosity here is overwhelming.
i would be glad to make the mold for the other props if the blades are in perfect form...........but the thing about these TF props that makes them so good is the nylon they were molded from........the material allowed just the right amount of depitching under load to make them effective on a healthy TD...........with that said, the FG version will still perform because the blade design was efficient, but won't perform as well as the nylon version.......

Phil, did you boil them too?
nylon that has become brittle just stays brittle even after boiling............although, i've gotten a bit more use out of older Tornado props in the decomposing stage after boiling.....

Re: Want to buy 1 Top Flite 6x3
I have not boiled them, I just soaked overnight. On the new Cox props the flexibility difference between soaked and not is pretty impressive.
I will try boiling a few and see.
