Cox control line three line throttle

Cox control line three line throttle
I saw on ebay, a three line throttle control line plane and handle. Anyone have these? Can they be found? Or made? Anyone have a picture of one? Some that I know have worked on 1/2A carrier, but they are two liners with a third line on the tail wheel. I'd love to build a real three liner cox carrier plane and start a Northwest contest.

Re: Cox control line three line throttle
Brodak has a series of bellcranks and handles for three line
http://brodak.com/control-line-parts/bellcranks.html?dir=asc&limit=40&order=price
AMA just allowed 2.4Mhz use on C/L events like stunt and carrier so that may be a more elegant option if you already have TX and micro RX gear

Yes, I have a few Brodak/J Roberts bellcranks. I fly carrier with them, but I think they would be to big for a 1/2A. I'll try to get a picture of the plane posted when I get home. This was a complete Cox product, it looked to be RTF handle and all. If I could get the Cox/ 1/2A bellcrank that would be GREAT!

Duke:
Scaling-down a J. Roberts 3-line bellcrank for 1/2A application would be a feat of engineeing beyond most capabilities here including mine. Personally, I'd rather opt for a 2.4 gig ESC assist to operate the throrrle function.

Dave
Good to hear from you. I've not moved into the 2.4hz throttle stuff yet. Some of the guys are moving that way since the rule change this year, but many are outraged at the thought of going R/C. This was a RTF Cox, I believe it was a Ryan ST3. Last year at a Portland contest a guy flew a 1/2A with an extra line attached to the tail wheel. He would pull on the thrid line to change the angle of the plane to slow it down. This is illegal for contest flying. I would live to go down this year with a true three line 1/2A carrier plane and get them interested in a new Northwest carrier class. Like we ned another. I'd like to see one of these Cox bellcranks if anyone has one.

Re: Cox control line three line throttle
Sweet! I found a site that had a bunch of pictures of a Ryan ST3, including the bellcrank. It looks like a plastic J Roberts. It was almost as wide as the wing from LE to TE. I think I can make a small Brodak C-22 work. I think I will modiy an existing slab wing model for proof of concept. I think I have a Beginner Ringmaster dying for a R/C engine!
I might just make a bellcrank out of two 2" perfect bellcranks. Going old school!

Years long past we just stacked a 90 degree aileron bellcrank and light spring over the elevator bellcrank on balsa planes with exhaust throttled .049s. The light spring cuz the cox return spring did not overcome flying line drag

Re: Cox control line three line throttle
THanks, the one I found wouldn't let me copy and paste it. I'm going to town today and I'll go by the hobby shop to get two small bellcranks and make one for the proto type plane.
