Local 1/2A flying
I believe it was Super Dave that talked about local flyers getting together to fly 1/2A's or setting up an 1/2A contest in there areas? Anyone remember this? I checked the other threads but couldn't find anything. Maybe I'm losing it, or maybe just couldn't find it, or maybe I couldn't find it and I'm losing it.

It was Dave,
Your not losing your mind. Not sure if anything became of it. It's a great idea, curious if it could play out.

'T was I awlright but the idea fell flat as a flounder in Dover.
CECF is big on verbage but short on participitory events.

We should do something like this. Local guys get together and fun fly or a contest, then report back to the forum with pictures/video. Where's that Dave now? This was his brain child.

Here's my idea from 5/07/12:
How about this idea? Regional Forum 1/2A CL events
SuperDave on Mon May 07, 2012 11:19 am
.With all the trepidation about flying control-line, I'd be willing to promote regional get togethers of forum members specifically wishing to learn to fly small control-line aircraft. Antendees would provide their own aircraft and equipment and I would be the primary flight instructor and host here in Washington State althogh I can see other such events in other regional areas too.
If the interest is there we can make it happen. I'm thinking a one-day event in early Septeber would be ideal.
Comments?.
The response was UNDERwhelming (if that's even a word; I not I'm coining a new one)

Re: Local 1/2A flying
There you are. I was hoping to pull you in. Maybe the whole event thing is overwhelming. We are a bunch of guys and might have trouble commiting. Maybe we should think smaller, bragging rights contest or just fun flies/get togethers. We could pull in guys with a BBQ at the flying field. I could help at a Westerrn Washinton location. We have a good spot in Chehalis, but I'm not sure if they would waive the AMA card if that's an issue.
