Just for coming to work

Just for coming to work
These were sitting on my desk when I arrived this morning. I had mentioned to a pilot I work with that I was into Cox engines.

What a deal --- I just get trouble tickets. A Babe Bee and silver tanked BW?
Re: Just for coming to work
You must be doing something right Ron.

Yeah it pays to let folks know what your interested in. Not sure about the stunt tanked one, it has a 70's #1 stepped cylinder with a plastic backplate. It's surely a Heinz 57.....

I'm into Beer, Porn and debauchery I wonder what they'll
Bring in for me?
Probably the Police.

Re: Just for coming to work
Cool. The silver stunt tank engine may have been a product engine.
I had a TD 051 handed to me like that. He said it was either give it to me or toss it in the trash as he had no use for it.
I wonder how many Cox engines are buried in the landfills?

Hey Ron, a #1 and a stunt tank makes it a BW in my book. Might want to check the venturi bore.

Damn, that took the edge off of my laugh at John.Jason_WI wrote:Cool. The silver stunt tank engine may have been a product engine.

Re: Just for coming to work
Nice score Ron, I had a buddy give me a box of cox engines out at the flying field a couple of months ago. Had two bee's and a couple of production engines along with lot's of parts. Made my day. So, what are you gonna build next????

Re: Just for coming to work
Yeah, it looks like someone cobbled up a silver BW with spare parts to be honest. Don't really care as it will be a runner. And it was free.......
It did make my day a little better, next build? Yak 9 or a scratch built S-1 Jim.

Re: Just for coming to work
I have found that just making my interest in Cox engines known has yielded me sevral such donations. One was shoe box full of Cox items left on our doorstep by an unknown donor.
I am, by nature, a very social person that trives on personal interactions. Ron must share that trait too given the example above. It is also natural to be shy and withdrawn.

Ron
build the S-1 you won't regret it. I love mine, think I'm gonna build another over the winter. I'll be flying on Saturday, I'll ask about the .35 fox your after, shouldn't take me to long to scare one up, I'm thinking that Jim Snelson still has a 10 dollar engine under the cabinet in his shop. That's where I got the one that's on my Ringmaster. You will have a blast building it.

Re: Just for coming to work
My hobby has been advanced further than I could have imagined by generous members of this forum who have given me high performance engines like TDs and some exotic brands too, and other things that make my projects more fun and my planes fly like they should. Not to mention the knowledge that's essential for keeping the lines tight and twisted.Dizzyman2011 wrote:Good for you it's nice when people do something nice I was once given a glow head at the field by someone who knew I was into cox engines he said that was the only thing left worth keeping (tried his first wing over and collided with concrete he gave up after that shame he was starting to get the hang of it good for you nice haul
