Baby Clown Maiden! With video
What a superb flying plane, it's got a medallion up front with a #4 cylinder courtesy of Happydad. Fuel supply is a 3/4 oz perfect uniflow tank. Soon to be a TD .049 with bladder from Rusty! Thanks to all you guys who helped.

Get rid of the m. And it should play. I am trying to post the actual vid, but it's a big pain.

NOW you're flying. That baby goes wherever you point it. And like a good plane, if you lose it for a second, it'll come back to you if you just don't panic. The engine performs really great too. It's a good combination. Awesome! Looks like you mowed a few weeds on one pass.cribbs74 wrote:What a superb flying plane, it's got a medallion up front with a #4 cylinder courtesy of Happydad. You're a pilot now. Fly it a while before you decide if there's really any need to change a setup that works. I didn't hear any hiccup from the uniflow during that flight. When it ran out it flat quit with no warning. You have to know when to level off and let it run dry, but you got it right that time.

Re: Baby Clown Maiden! With video
Thanks Rusty,
Means a lot coming from you. That medallion fired off first flip right out of the mailbox. I still want to do a TD and bladder combo though. I was just fooling around as I had a spare 5 minutes to try stuff out.
I had never succesfully completed a figure 8 until this evening. I have also never moved off of center either so I think me moving around and keeping the lines taught made a huge difference. I had some serious adrenaline pumping after the flight! So much so I decided to pack it in as it was too good to be true.
Man this stuff is fun!!!!!

Haha, you sound like me. It was fun to watch too, I watched it about four times. It looked like it went exactly where you pointed it. I always have to take a break and calm down after a particularly good wild flight. And if it was really great, sometimes I don't want to fly it again because I don't want to spoil the joy with a wreck, especially with a new plane. I get pre-flight anxiety too. It usually clears up as soon as I pick up the handle though.
It's definitely full body coordination. Have you gotten past dizziness? It will come back when you start flying inverted laps, just as bad as when you first flew a plane. Just learn to check your spot marker out of the corner of your eye.

I don't get dizzy anymore although I haven't flown more than 1 half lap inverted. Time will tell. I always get pre-flight jitters. I suppose it's a good and bad thing. Keeps me on my toes.
I have had decent flights before then went back for one more round and wrecked the plane. So I am learning to quit while I am ahead!

Ha. That'll teach me.
Earlier I stopped myself from writing 'we'll have you doing it with no silly strings
Soon Ron'........
Tempting fate I guess.
I'm off to the field later, if the grass has been mown I'll take
Peety out tomorrow.

Happydad, that's my contribution to the recycling program. I think it was Keith's or Mark's idea. Maybe both! Either way it works well alongside Kim's stooge.
JB, just poking fun. Take your time with the PT.

Ron:
I fully appreciate and understand your progression as "ukie" (slang for control line) pilot.
it's great to see how far you've advanced in a very short time. A key element is the near constant flying routine that you have followed.
As with any skill keeping at it is a constant learning experience. We are all not as skilled as we'd like to be and that's a great motivation to take flying to the next level crashes or no.

Thank you Dave, I have been trying to fly as often as possible. Not often enough in my opinion.
I'll keep on keeping on as long as I am having fun. And it is fun!
