Cox bee tank extenders
I saw Full Throttle Phil last night (he of the 7 cylinder Cox) and he's going to make me some Kavan type bee
tank extenders.
They will be machined alloy not plastic, shouldn't leak and made by a craftsman not a machine or a nine
year old in China.
If any of you are interested let me know.
The kavan ones add 5cc to a tank, if you're interested let me know what capacity you'd like.
Capacity is only limited by the length of the bolts but don't ask for 50cc extra.
At the mo I don't know how much but I'm sure the cost will drop the more I order.
I've also got some TeeDee 020 springs being made.

Will Phill be making the screws for that?
Have had some other thoughts too.....
010 backplates/tanks Alu ones.
Shouldn't be too hard to do, I've seen a couple in the past, when I get on the computer I'll post pics.

John: www.boltdepot.com as well as others make hardened 2-56 screws/bolts with heads from flat philister to hex socket head in 1/2in, 9/16in., 5/8in., 3/4in., 7/8in., 1.0in, and 1.25in. and longer lengths. chrome plated as well as black oxidized finish. $.09 to $.14 for 1/2in. socket head hardened depending on quantity, $.17 to $.25 for 3/4inch and $.54 to $.82 for 1.25in depending on quantity. also shipping for U.S. is UPS at about $9.00 so it pays to buy at least 100 pieces.

I am in for 2 pee wee extenders. I'll take 2 5cc .049 one's too
Think he would do a .010 spring? In for 2 .020 TD though.

Re: Cox bee tank extenders
Just out of curiosity how many springs does one need to have made for the price per spring to be reasonable?

Re: Cox bee tank extenders
No I'm not going to ask him to make 8 track players, Suzuki motorcycles, slimline salad dressing
etc etc just the above.
However all interest duly noted and ball rolling.
However
The Olympic organising committee have just unleashed their latest bit of
nonsense on those of us attempting to run a business in this neck of the woods
so I'm buggering off a week early (Tuesday) to escape the madnesss. This means you'll
have to wait a little longer than I'd enviseaged so I apologise for whetting you whistles
too early.
Hopefully when we do get em they'll have been worth the wait.

They will be machined alloy not plastic, shouldn't leak and made by a craftsman not a machine or a nine

Re: Cox bee tank extenders
Kavan tank extenders were made in Germany. Not USA.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he was implying that anything was made in China. He just wanted everyone to know they were not being made overseas, just as you do.

Your not wrong Matt........
John was just saying the quality of the product he is having manufactured will be of good quality.
He is having an aftermarket product made not associated with Cox whatsoever, apart from the fact they will work on Cox engines.

The tank extenders are made by Kavan anyway and not cox.engine049 wrote:They will be machined alloy not plastic, shouldn't leak and made by a craftsman not a machine or a nine

Re: Cox bee tank extenders
I'd like to know the ordering details, standard sizes, and price list too.
Not quite sure if I want one since I lack a specific purpose, but ideas on what to do with an extended run .049 are pretty easy to come up with.
