Thanks for the compliments.
The cylinder on this one isn’t correct. It should have just 2 transfer ports with SPI. The cylinder that it has on it is a TD .049 cylinder with two transfer ports and 4 boost ports. It doesn’t have a #4 stamped anywhere though. It is tapered too.
I don’t think TD cylinders were out when this version of RR-1 was available.

Oh, well I couldn’t tell that from the photo, but that’s a nice early #4 so it looks correct on the outside!

That looks very nice there. Is that also a new backplate, or did you just polish up the original? Looks very shiny in the picture.

It’s an early backplate that is zinc dichromate plated. The backplate was in very good condition on this engine.

Looks good! you probably know there's a bunch of basket case post '56 Space Bugs out there with correct cylinder.
