Re: Good Deal?
I ran the Space Hopper. Absolutely excellent! It is definitley going on a CL plane. I have not run the Killer Bee. I was not sure whether I would sell it or not. I decided not to. I got it all polished and nice looking. I am going to work with it and really make it scream. I will find a Combat Wing for it. Now to find a beam mount CL plane.

Like Travis said, not many were produced. Plus it's got some valuable parts in it like the crankshaft, gold anodized crankcase, .051 cylinder/piston, etc.

...and fewer left. Don't they have a weak piston? (Something to take into consideration if you are going to use it hard.)

No, that would be the Venom, I believe.

The Aerotools site said the piston was lightened.
Re: Good Deal?
The Killer Bee used the lightened, thinwall piston. This is not to say you may see a mixture of parts like an 'original' Killer Bee with a regular piston, but the early ones had the high-flow backplate, yellow needle extension stem, thinwall piston with SPI cylinder, lightened/balanced crankshaft, and gold anodized case with stainless steel thrust washer.

Re: Good Deal?
I about died when my friend pulled it out of his shed. He goes to tons of swap meets and got this recently. He knows I like CL so he holds onto things for me. I asked what he wanted and he said $15. I did not even try to haggle. Just pulled it out and handed it over.
Is this and RR1 or and RR2? What is the difference? Does the latter exist or did I make it up somehow in my mind?
Anyone know the name of the plane? I was wanting to fix the fins and fly it with the RR.

Re: Good Deal?
WOW! Nice one!
Reggie @ VGE made some RR2s, Fit90 has a couple of them. They were not produced by Cox.

Re: Good Deal?
I got it all free and moving nice. Oiled it and started working on the tail of the plane. Not sure what it was supposed to look like so I just started sanding and cutting. Got the tail pieces painted and drying.

DAMN! HOLY where am I when these deals go down? I go to about every swap meet, antique sale, flea market and (good looking) garage sales I come across and I never find anything like that! I thought I did good when my uncle beat me to a $3 RC Bee (that he gave me shortly after) but DAMN!
Re: Good Deal?
Are these engines timed to only run in one direction?
It says Cynce on the wing.
We were running the engine but after many runs and several stopped runs, we cannot get it to run in the correct direction. I was wanting to fly tomorrow but do not have any reverse props.

They will only run in one direction unless additional holes are drilled in the disc valve. Open her up and take a picture of the disc valve.
Re: Good Deal?
I checked it out and the only way to have the piston go up and it be open is when it goes backwards. The other direction would blow the fuel out of the venturi. That is a bummer. Now I need to find a regular pusher prop. Not the three blade.

Re: Good Deal?
Do not feel so bad Jacob. My dad started to think I was lucky too. We walked into the house and he told my Mother that they need to buy me a lottery car.
