Re: Diamond Jubilee flypast from the Lancaster
I watched it this morning on the NBC Today Show. The big three (NBC, CBS, and ABC) have been covering the Jubilee all week. Fascinating. Americans are developing, if not already harboring, an affinity for watching the Royal family.
It doesn't hurt that Princess Kate is serious babe material.

Couldn't read her lips to tell what she said, but on the live feed, the Queen's face lit up like the Fourth of July ( Sorry Ivanhoe, I had to say it ), when she heard the four Rolls Royce Merlins on that Lancaster !!!!
It looked like it was escorted by a Spitfire or Hurricane or two, but the camera shot was too focused to see those details.
Hope she passes Victoria's record and is around a long time.
Nothing like sound of a RR Merlin to keep her heart pumping....

Re: Diamond Jubilee flypast from the Lancaster
Just discovered that I'd put the wrong film clip here! I've now altered it to the one I wanted!
I thought, when the opening part of this clip was from the Bomb-Aimer's position in the Lancaster, that I hoped he wasn't lining up for a bomb run!
The Lanc's escort was four Spitfires and a Hurricane, some good air-to-air shots of them too.
