Oh man, that got to hurt
I wish you a speedy recovery, let’s hope it’s closer to 2 months than 6.

Re: PSA propellors!!!
it took me 3 weeks to think of a dumb way to make a topic and keep it light
but seeing that you guys what some details here it is
here I am jobless at home sick of looking at vacancy's.
so I decide to start a engine just to hear it run.
so I mount her on the stand I prime her.....
and she decides she must run
so the propellor (40cm) decides my hand is a perfect target
to make a long story short
manage to call for help (inbetween fainting and making a mess)
and after a long wait to the operation room
and to paint a picture of how bad it was
I apperently have white bones in my hand

Re: PSA propellors!!!
What were you running? Even a .049 can do damage. APC propellers are really sharp but any prop is capable of injury. An APC on anything above a .049 can be deadly.

I hope that you heal up well. There are hand specialists I hope that you got a good one. We need those things in our hobby.

Re: PSA propellors!!!
I have been racking my brain..........PSA propellers.........? PSA propellers????? Ah, got it. ASP backwards. I have several in different sizes. I use a chicken stick on them. Unusual for me as I'm a finger flipping guy. Be careful out there, this isn't exactly a model train hobby although Cox did make model trains.

Re: PSA propellors!!!
Thanks, Bob, for decyphering PSA, I was too shy to ask what PSA stood for.
ASP are the best propeller design I have encountered so far, but the material is a bit brittle and the props break too easy for me, typically landing with no landing gear, on tall grass...even if I set the prop horizontal where compression starts, making sure the dead stick landing has the prop stopped in horizontal position, it breaks iften when hitting the grass
And yes, they are pretty sharp on the leading edge and the tip too. One should take extra caution when flipping it and keeping your hand clear from the spinning prop..been there, done that, seen that...
