Pt19 pilot and windshield
Does anyone have a Cox PT19 pilot and windshield that you could loan me so that I can try to make a copy?
I would return it when finished.
Thanks!

Re: Pt19 pilot and windshield
CG,
I don't, but I have plastic busts from ages ago. They were sold in bulk with windscreens. The box has two sizes of busts and canopies. I can't remember the manufacturer, but all the busts are lemon yellow.
Anybody have a PT-19 bust fo measurements? Head diameter across the crown of the head and height from "under chin" to top of crown would be nice. Overall height would assist.
If my bust's head matches, then this becomes a simple matter of cutting my bust to appropriate height. Is this perfect, nope...but it ought to get a guy close.

Re: Pt19 pilot and windshield
These pieces are so rare that if you see them, they will sell for 1/2 the price of the plane.
Being a big buyer on E-Bay and Marketplace, I found it cheaper to buy a complete plane.
It's a shame to have an incomplete plane, but it's often the only solution. Marketpalce often offers good deals.
Good luck

Re: Pt19 pilot and windshield
I can use those numbers. Thanks Iatole.
CG, I'll try to get to my busts tomorrow. Who knows...they may be a fashionable change!

Re: Pt19 pilot and windshield
944_Jim, You are welcome, feel free to ask some other reading.
I keep this pilot/cockpit assembly detached from the aircraft.
I want to fly it eventually and without risking damage to these rare parts,
I have several PT-19

NEW WINDSCREEN
I'm a bit late to the party, but, I had to make a plan with a broken front window frame...
I designed a replacement, and once installed, decided to cut the rear frame away and install one in the rear as well.
Not an "exact" replica" but looks ok, compared to a broken window frame anyway!
(used superglue - Cyanoacrylate)

Good job! What did you use to cut the plastic?

Re: Pt19 pilot and windshield
Thanks!
I cut the plastic with scissors and an X-acto knife.
Laser cutting would be ideal, so if anyone needs the .DXF file, I can supply it.
(I tried to attach the file to this post but the "system" will not permit it? )
