Surprising Score at a Fairly Sparse Swap Meet
Yesterday, I drove up to Mount Vernon, Illinois for the Rend Lake Flyers' Swap Meet, finding a very low turn-out for the event.
BUT!!!! A fellow I had talked to before was there, with a stash of PT-19 and other parts for sale. SO, I picked up some replacement parts for my battered fleet of trainers, including some much-needed rudders (I seem particularly adept at breaking off the tab at the front of the fin).
So, a successful trip, followed by a visit with some long-time friends up in Decatur. A Good Day.
My haul:
A PT-19's Wing, Stabilator, and (really needed) some spare rudders.
The blue wing goes with a mostly-built Sterling "Flying Fool" control liner, bought from my friend, Tom.
John has somewhat of a treasure trove of assorted RFT planes and parts that he is offering at Swap Meets. He says he's not interested in going the Ebay route, so I may be talking to him again!
I was strongly tempted by the Ringmaster Bibe, but already have an airworthy one, so passed on the deal.

Wow! Nice score, Kim. Re the Ringmaster Bipe, yeah, been there done that. Had enough kits stocked plus built, time to realistically pass.

Nice little haul there. I find it funny hearing of teh Flying Fool. I have a NIB kit here as well, but scared to start it just yet as my building skills are below most everyone here, and would like to actually build a 'nice' model one day....
I also had a nice little 'score' Saturday myself, but will do my own thread so as not to take away from yours.
