Wen Mac Lotus - dusty but not ran
or played with either. Mail today.
Least expensive one I could find on ebay, after some negotiating. No box. Motor locked up but complete, a first for me with these. Dusted with compressed air and I'm done. My referance.
Two different concepts. Hadn't moved the .045 since I got it. Boring. Nothing to do with it but look. But, it's a great look.
White one about done. Just have to button it up. Won't have to cement it together, fixed the for and aft self tapper posts. Yellow one suffers from the same ailments. Fuel tank fill/vent broken off as is the fuel line. Engine locked. Posts broken. Fun times.
Before I went all rsv1cox
Edit add:
FedEx today, yea they found my house!
Looks lonesome in there. Any ideas? Felt grass, mechanic, trailer, other?

Theres always that Bob. I say run them at least once. You aren’t getting any younger. They can always be cleaned up after and displayed. I have a Mercedes to run still….

Re: Wen Mac Lotus - dusty but not ran
My last hurrah on these disasters which would be better served in a landfill. But..........
Finished the white one....Testors, no driver but equipped for a pull start and moved on to the yellow one. Wen Mac driver but no pully. Everything else the same including the engine. Strange.
What's the solvent for spent castor? Well, castor. Worked but fuel would be better, but I'm stingy with my fuel.
The fuel tank on these is bottom-less the pan serves for that. But it was all sticky fuel/castor goo. So I loaded it with straight castor and let it set for an hour or two then stiff brushed it along with the rest of the pan. Not the magic bullet, but it worked.
Not anything I would recommend to a friend, but they do have some interesting characteristics. And they are both capable of being ran, but probably not by me.
But, this stuff works! Canopy cement. Much better application than the plastic liquid. Glued the #22's on with it. Paper repros from an original
OH, I liked the axles and the screw-on knock-off's. much better than Cox.

Re: Wen Mac Lotus - dusty but not ran
NICE JOB BOB!! I have a couple of wrecks and a couple for display. Hit a couple of "BIN" buttons when I forgot I already had one,or two...so now I have a TeamSprite racing team.
and a short frame looking for a T-Bucket to make a Rat-Fink Car!!
The Yellow Wen-Mac car tires are "Wen Mac" The White Testors cars tires are "Goodyear":
I'll have to work on a better way to display them like you have!

Way to go with the clean up ! That's weird the fuel tank bottom is the car body .. What did you use to glue them back on to bee fuel leak proof ?

Re: Wen Mac Lotus - dusty but not ran
Wow, Rene. Your a glutton for punishment. I like the company.
Three Wen-Mac Lotus cars. I would think they are in better condition than the two of mine that I "repaired."
I have always been a big fan of open-wheel racers. My ex son-in-law (my daughter is hard to live with ) is a big Rat Fink fan, got the Tee shirt, license plate, etc.. Who was it here....Dr. Cox?
Made room on my shelf for the spare Lotus by moving out the silver Cox W-196. Some how the decals survived multiple cleanings from everything from laundry detergent to Pine-Sol so I left them on. I need a bigga shelf.
These also came with a throttleable engine.
But not the pipe bomb

Thanks Eric. Plain old Testors red tube. Fuel proof, probably, but we shall see.

Last one Fred looks like the model that Dr Cox? put on some sort of car? I don't think he has been on for quite awhile.
