Roy Cox .045 "Special" arrives via FedEx
FedEx, always a toss-up whether they deliver to my house or someone elses. So I set a sign out front with FEDEX and an arrow pointing up my driveway. Saves me chasing packages around the neighborhood.
But, seller did a great job, double boxed and triple wrapped. Nice. Checking off the boxes on my Cox "bucket list."
Some grease or spent castor that shows in photos, but not so much on the car. Might clean it off, might not.

Beautiful piece of COX art Bob..do you think it would still run? Is the glow plug interchangeable with today's plugs? The engine cowl is a bit closed.. what was the cooling of these engine like?

Awesome model! I reckon I would tend to leave the grease/fuel/oil stains on it as it gives it Pedigree in my eyes that its actually been run and used, not only looks beautiful. Either way, excellent addition to your collection Bob.

The Spitzy uses a standard 1/4-32 plug. However, the plug was somewhat taller which is no longer available. The body of the plug under the hex was quite tall. Even though a regular plug fits, if one is using a standard igniter, it won't get onto the plug properly. I use the clothespin type for them . It appears to me that the original plug is still in the engine. It has Spitfire stamped into it.

You have remarkable powers of observation Ken. How did you see that. I hold the thing in my hands and don't see what you pick-up. Old eyes I guess.
I have a small collection of Spitzy's including one with the optional brass head. I was suprised to read that these had Spitzy parts, crank and piston I think.
Thanks all for your comments.
Bob
