What Is With This Weather!!!!!
So I just felt I needed to vent a bit. The weather here has been totally off the wall lately. First the Covid thing put a stop to all local flying. This was going to be my first year flying nitro RC, but as above, the club I had originally intended to join was not accepting new members / payment for new members, but last years members were allowed to fly with last years membership. Called twice to see what is going on, or if there is any updates and was told nothing new, and would definately call me and keep me up to date every couple of weeks. That was back in late March. As of yet, still crickets, but they are now actively flying with distancing. So I decided I would join a different club. A bit further away, but looked to be more fun anyways. I know a few members there personally, and they said not to worry about paying yet, but can come out as a guest with them and fly. Well, up until now, and again even today, the wind is being relentless! I think I had one day so far that would have been good for flying a trainer, but did not work out for anyone else. I did go out Saturday, but couldn't fly due to the wind, so just sat around shooting the breeze with my buddy watching him fly his 3D planes. Also I did fire up my engine just to say I did and see how it ran after not being run in about a year. And if it is not the wind, the temperatures are dropping. Got a couple of planes here to fly, as well as a couple I will let my friend fly as they are too advanced for me, but want to see them fly.
Nowhere soon with these winds will I be even thinking of trying to fly my Cox powered 1/2a Stealth Sport or Goldberg Skylane 42 single channel!
Just bummed and down now. Rant over.

On the other hand, looks like you connected
with a good group. Sorry 'bout the wind.

Hang in there. I live in windy city, too. Good weather will be coming. Just be prepared when it arrives (along with the mosquitoes).NEW222 wrote:So I decided I would join a different club. Thanks guys! I know my time will come along with the mosquitoes. .... Already had a bout with them a couple of weeks ago. They too sure know how to ruin a good summer. At home here they're not bad at all, but at the lake, watch out!

Bad weather coupled with Covid-19 will get anyone down Chancey. Bummer x 10! And, add mosquitoes ……………. For a change, good weather here in WV, and no mosquitoes, but chiggers are on the way mid summer, my Waterloo. They eat me up.
My Covid-19 impact……….. I need a haircut, that or I need to buy a hair curler.
