Current status of Fitz Fuels
I've noticed for some time now, actually months that Fitz fuels has been out of stock of fuel. I've sent 2 e-mails over the past 2 months with no response. I would sure hate to lose such a great asset to our hobby. Having lost the Cox Hobby fuel, that was a real blow and I don't want to see it repeated. I really enjoyed using their fuel. I'm nearing the end of my last qt and in search of more.

Ron, I noticed that Sig doesn't show out of stock. Does this occur when you go to checkout? They were going to be my next choice. I stopped purchasing from them a little while back as it was very difficult to return as a customer without having to create another account. Not the situation any longer and I have always had good success using Sig Champion.

Re: Current status of Fitz Fuels
Here is Fitz Walker's Youtube he did a live streaming show last week.
He stopped selling fuel on Ebay too, this has been going on for the
last 3 months ish. I am down to 1.5 quarts of his fuel.
His youtube lists his email should anyone want to enquire.

In my case I was able to check out without issue. Within a week I received an email from customer service stating it was on backorder. That was 3 months ago. I am pretty sure I was charged though. You may want to call first.

I can only speak to the 35% Eric. You will have to call to find out about other percentages.

Re: Current status of Fitz Fuels
About a month ago the owner of my LHS told me that Sig had a fire some time back that not only burned up a bunch of wood but also damaged their ability to produce fuel. He said that the last time he talked to them they had no idea when or even if they would be back up to speed with fuel. I searched the net for more info but didn't find anything, nor was there any info on the Sig site. Anybody here hear anything about the fire?

I called the number on Sig's site just now...they've got a couple pints of 10% and two gallon jugs of 25%---which will slam you with HAZMAT fees. The girl didn't know when they'd be stocked up again.

Re: Current status of Fitz Fuels
I search for nitromethane shortage and blurbs show up in 2008 and 2018 but nothing recent. Not sure why this would be the case.
Total tinfoil hat theory. FAA putting the squeeze on fuel blenders and suppliers to keep those pesky model airplanes (evil drones ) out of the airspace.
Kinda like .22 ammo being available on January 20th 2017. All you can buy, all types. I witnessed this myself at fleet farm. One week bare shelves. The next week piles available and no more 100 rd limits.

RE: Current status of Fitz Fuels
Unfortunately, due to all the unpleasantness that's going on between the US and China today ( ie. Kungflu, trade tariffs, and other serious geopolitical issues at many levels), it is highly problematic that most or even a small amount of nitromethane will find it's way down to the hobby and sports fuel manufacturers.
Since China was given virtual 100% worldwide nitro production rights by politicians and short sighted profit minded corporations, the squeeze will most likely get worse with ….wait for it...much higher prices !!
If you need fuel for the short time I'd buy what I could from who ever is open or will sell to you.
Bad news for all interested parties me included..
Proceed accordingly...…..

Re: Current status of Fitz Fuels
Ritch's Brew is another vendor to check out if Fitz is not available right now.
Re: Current status of Fitz Fuels
Ritch's brew in my opinion is one of the best. Even my exclusive fuel VP Powermaster took a back seat to Randy Ritch's fuel. This is the fuel supplied at the NATS the past few years. Unfortunately, Randy doesn't usually respond to e-mail. Brodak was selling Ritch's brew and it quickly sold out. I may just have to call him as I have one qt of high nitro fuel left.

Agreed - Randy has an excellent blend and his prices are reasonable. I believe we still have around 10 or so quarts if anybody is in dire need, but the shipping is always a pain with fuel and one of the reasons we have never stocked regularly.
FitzFuels back shipping
Hey guys,
I sincerely apologize for being down so long. I had some issues re-supplying, but I'm back up and shipping.
The good news is it looks like I can take advantage of some new UPS shipping options to pass along significant saving on shipping costs from before.
I've already started adding ebay listings.
My website is having issues so I don't know when that will be updated.
Sorry for missing any e-mail. Of all things, Chinese spam has made the e-mail system mostly useless.

Re: Current status of Fitz Fuels
Whew, I was getting worried for a while there, as all the 1/2A fuel I have is a little 35% sloshing around ion the bottom of a couple of ratty old Qt bottles. And I am headed back into 1/2A whenever I get the old flying legs back in action...this Summer, I'm hopefully expecting. I do have a full gallon of Sig 10% stunt fuel that's been in my flight bag ever since that fateful night before Huntersville in October, 2017. And I have a buddy who has a case of it with a couple of gallons with my name on them.
Thanks for checking in, Fitz, we all appreciate it very much.

Looks like I doubled ordered the 2 quarts 35%. More fuel for the backplate testing. GTP Nissan will like that fuel too.

Re: Current status of Fitz Fuels
This weekend, I used up the last of my Fitz fuels. I went to order today and once again, no stock and no EBAY sales. I'm in search of fuel and no longer wish to deal with hit or miss. Randy Ritch doesn't respond to e-mail and Sig is in my opinion just about out of business. Brodak is not a option as I strongly dislike the fuel and have tried it numerous times with not good success. Any other vendors? I'm to the point where I might be mixing my own due to finding this to be very problematic. I'm not extremely crazy about storing these materials at my residence. I don't even care to store the fuel in my garage.

Re: Current status of Fitz Fuels
For the past 4 or 5 years I have mixed my own fuel simply because castor based fuel is no longer sold here. A few months ago I bought some Jet fuel made in Italy but its castor content was dubious. The private seller told me 18% castor but the Italian factory said it is full synth. I burnt some in my OS Max 56 FS engine and the exhaust gas was practically dry. Meaning its probably all synth...so I stay with my home brewn one just to be sure what I burn in my COX engines.
