TD09 and 05 RC plastic fuel nipple

As written in another post I find the black plastic fuel nipple to be the weakest point of COX TD 05 and 09 R/C carbs and I admire the metal replacements Dave and Mauricio produced.
Not having the tools and skills I am wondering if the TD02 needle valve body and nipple could also be used for the 05 and 09 RC carbs as nipple by just slipping it on their spraybar where the black plastic nipple sits?

I am away from home but could someone measure the spraybar outer diameter (09 and 05 sizes the same) and compare with the throat dia of the TD02 needle valve body? Maybe it fits and with the NV threaded end opening plugged could serve as a lasting metal nipple for 05 and 09 size RC carbs?

Interesting idea, but no dice. I checked an 05 carb and an 020 needle valve assembly. The 020 nva has a smaller diameter that might be drlled out to fit, but its thickness is not sufficient by at least three millimeters.

Thanks Dave for checking, too bad..could you also check if the TD049 NV body fits? I guess that is too large compared to the spraybar dia..sorry but I wont be home before Thursday to check and am intrigued ..

Looking at your 2nd pic Dave I could envision 1 or 2 small washers added behind the inside flange on the spaybar that would position it more inwards and the 3mm missing from the 02 NV house thickness would be thus made up? The spraybar internal end would relocate from the centerline of air intake but maybe it would still work?

I did check an 049 nva, way too large diameter. I also thought about a few washers on either side of the 020 nva, that might be worth a shot if you can find some that are sized appropriately and seal them tight.

Are the 05 and 09 spray bars and fuel inlets the same size?

Yes the 05 and 09 spray bars, needle valves and nipples are interchangeable..
