Cox Nomad.....
Came across this interesting UFO last night while surfing online. Sent a message, and asked the seller if he would be able to at least hold this for me till after work today. It was too good to pass up, never having heard or seen one before. Engine locked up with castor I'm sure. Needs a propeller, and a little polyurethane glue applied on the inside where the outer ring fins attache to the inner ring. All else appears to be in good working order. The only other thing is that one of the battery box contacts was blue and crusty, but a bit of iron out a couple of times cleaned it up, and now works.

Date on the box is 1998, and the address listed is in Colorado. The fuel even smells good!

Cool! That should fly great. Looks like a combination of the Helicopter ‘s counter rotary blades for a slow controlled decent. I have the plastic UFO and once the motor stops, it drops like a rock!

Never had the helicopter here, so I cannot say for sure. However, the blades 'hook' into the wire, then 'click' in place. They then freely 'pivot' a little in each direction. If that makes any sense, as I do not have a helicopter blade here to compare it to.

Re: Cox Nomad.....
Under power the blades are supposed to tilt one way to give lift. When the engine quits they are supposed to flop over the other way and auto-rotate, supposedly slowing the descent.

Wonderful find Chancey, and one I had never seen before too.
Cox sure turned out many variations of the Helicopter theme. I hope you will fly it and post about it here. Maybe we could have a helicopter fly 'em if ya got 'em day.

Oh yes, I will definately fly it once I get it repaired, and engine cleaned up. And I will post pictures, or possibly video.
