Thanks Doc.
And Eric that's a paint job based on a picture on one I saw on-line. All Top Flight Lustrekote.
I'm most proud of the Texan, complete except for the tail wheel. The pictures don't do it justice. Funny story about it. Mark found it at a flea market on consignment. He asked - "How much?" Guy said he will take $10. Mark ever the negotiator offered $5. Guy said, let me call the seller. Mark said that's ok, I'll give you the ten. But he was already on the phone.
Seller said - That's a $20 plane.

The Texan looks like it would fly pretty good for an RTF plastic model. Does anybody have any flying experience with one?

The only plastic plane that I ever flew was a Cox PT-19, now in the more capable hands of Ron Cribbs. Mark recently flew the Cox Corsair. The kindest thing that I can say is that they flew. That's it! Someone once said that "Balsa fly's better." I agree.
The Texan will never see air time under my watch, the other two pictured maybe.
And yes Dave, Texans in WV. Fred has family around here.

That yellow winger looks like it's gonna need some serious heat treatment wing un-warping before you try flying it.

There is a tad bit of dihedral there.
Pretty well smashed when I got it with major cracks at the wings root on both sides repaired with red tube Testors.
Maybe a few years of corrective therapy will help.

The dihedral shouldn't be an issue. The problem seems to be that wing appears twisted like a propeller in the group photo.

Yes, the left wing is a little bent. Wish I still had pictures of the original. The whole tail section is balsa.
Hopefully the weight therapy will cure the problem if I leave it long enough in the warm summer time loft. Yes, I doubt it too.
Relocating all my plastic planes to the basement.
Bob

Perhaps some judicious use of the paint stripper gun will let you "re-mold' the wing.

The loft in general isn't to bad, lot's of window ventilation but no A/C.
When I built it in I made some cubby holes in the corners, far right in the picture and stored models in there. Not good, no vents and heat builds up. Moved them all since.
Maybe something laid on that wing, maybe not. donno.

You have an excellent memory Eric, demonstrated here many times. My memory is not what it once was, one reason why I repeat myself here so often.
Yes, I built that in about five years ago mostly by myself. Couldn't do it today. Not easy hanging 4X8 sheets of drywall above your head. A "T" bar helped.
But I told a story, I thought I had all my plastic airplanes out of that cubby. Checked it today and found a couple of P-39's and a Stuka still in there. Got them out in a hurry. I don't think it's a wise idea to store plastic airplanes on their wheels. Seems like that would contribute to excess dihedral like that on the SNJ. Some I store on the nose being careful that a propeller is not involved.
I's just leaving the door off now.

Interesting thoughts on the storage of the plastic planes on their wheels. I have a couple and store them that way without thinking of the outcomes of storing them that way. However, I keep them in my basement in teh model room which stays at approximately 70 degrees steady.
