Might be something out of the Enterprise Models line. Also could be from a Japanese kit, as .09 engines were their preferred small c/l format.

Thanks Victor. It does have an Enya .09 sitting on the nose.
Joined flaps and elevator make it unique. I don't think I have ever seen that on a kit plane leading me to believe that it's home built?

Sorry I cannot be of any help in identifying, but i must ask..... Is this yours, or is it on it's way to you????? It is a nice looking airplane. I like the engine too, as I have one on a plane in my hangar!

100’s of kit planes have flaps. They have been around since the late 40’s early 50’s No idea what yours it is though. I don’t share Chancey’s opinion on the aesthetics.

It's on the way Chancey, breaking my no more ebay rule temporarily.
Couldn't resist it, my favorite Enya engine and free shipping.

What's not to love Ron........A B-17 tail stuck on a fighter plane fuselage. Maybe a dozen or so decals...

I might stick some stars and bars on it.

That's a good size for a FF with the extra weight and flaps , i would think it will fly well . Bars / strips / yes

Re: Anyone recognize this model airplane?
I'd say this UFO is worth an "off frame" rebuild/restoration. If you can't positively ID the model, I'd suggest doing a removable fill in plug for the open cockpit and placing a removable Howard Hughes Racer style enclosed cockpit/fairing ensemble on rear of fuselage. Except for landing gear the model is evocative of a Hughes H1B Racer (not visa).

Yes, close. Tail matches, and a cowl would do it.
Great show of HH plowing though houses and a beet field in the movie "Aviator".

Re: Anyone recognize this model airplane?
Finished my Firebaby clones and rediscovered this question mark. Thinking that it's scratch built unless someone has a better idea..
Engine was locked up and completely enclosed in the cowl. Had to cut away the balsa to get at it then an AF boil this morning. Found out it's an Enya .09 a favorite but also an Enya .09II a double favorite.
Balsa firewall not sealed well so I removed it and found a weird custom? fuel tank that I'm going to leave in place and flush out.
Pilot figure looks to have been molded from some sort of latex/putty.
3 hour AF boil. Not disassembled except for the needle and glow plug. Cold Simple Green immersion scrub, then hot water rinse while rotating crankshaft in both directions until water expelled clear, compressed air blow out, alcohol rinse, another blowout, then flushed with Remoil. Saves time, money and gaskets.

Well i will say the engine came out Nice , good thing you don't need to take those Hd. screws out (they been out before ) The pilot is a little weird if you look at it too long LOL. Are you going to put her in the air ?

Re: Anyone recognize this model airplane?
Yup, either my son or me this spring/summer, along with about 42 other (at last count) flyable models. Eager to try it with the flaps. Bucket list stuff, if we don't fly them all now we may never have another chance.
Guy reminds me of "Joe the plumber" of political fame some years ago. He's just a little ate up.
I have some JIS screwdrivers that would make short work of those buggered machine screws. But I'm leaving it as is.

Bob, have you ever used the ball raced Enya .09?

No, but I have several NIB. Maybe one day I will fire one up just to compare with my old standards. To many Enya's, not enough time and I hate to be the one that pulls the trigger on a new (Enya) engine.
Most interesting Enya "Special" that I have is the .09II (lower left) built for a collector (not Bob Allan) in Australia by the company.
Being your one of the authorities here on model airplanes and their kits, you agree that this one was scratch built?

Re: Anyone recognize this model airplane?
Engine tested and re-installed, ready to do circles.
When I got it, the landing gear was folded back for shipment. Thought that curious. Looking closer there was just a minimum amount of epoxy holding the swing gear in place. Maybe the builder had a good idea hoping that in a crash the landing gear would just break loose and not damage the airframe. Then there is that shipping thing.
So I epoxied it back the same way using as little as possible. But then I thought, Velcro or a mechanical clip of some sort would work too on this set-up.
Just a little epoxy on the cut-outs too, I will probably be removing the engine again.
Joe the plumber goes against type and celebrates the "Green New Deal."

Looks Good i like the way the fuel tank is mounted / other than the fact you can't get to it Does it balance good for some stable flight ?

That's really too nice of an .09 to risk flying the plane with.

Yes, and I really do like the .09II better than most of my other engines.
The natural smooth finish is appealing and is unlike most Enyas of the period. But, I have ten others including one NIB and this one is the worst of the bunch, but it's a great runner so it's on with the show.
I have faith in the plane. It balances well and looks like a flyer. I'm just not sure how those flaps will react.
First good day it's going up if.........the field next to my house ever dries up.
Ambitious plan, fly the three planes and run the tether car in preparation for May first.
Edit add:
Wow that tether car photographs well. Trust me, it's a wreck.

I would be cautious about the bell crank mount.

I guess I could replace that small washer under the wing with a larger one. Solid wing not built up. I'm sure it was home built.
I'm more worried about the flyer, me and/or my son.

It may be a kit build. I recall seeing such an aircraft somewhere, may be late 1940's / early 1950's kit, but have yet not been able to locate the reference to it.
