Re: Taught my son a few things tonight...
He told me he wants an engine for his birthday next month. Looks like I'll be placing another order with Bernie soon I'm going to order it in pieces though so he learns how to put one together.
Re: Taught my son a few things tonight...
Cool!
If I were you I would buy one then disassemble it for him to do as some parts enters don't always go together well and some run bad.
So maybe get own you know is good from Bernie then dissemble it and let him make it to avoid and birthday disapoinent.
Just an idea.

That got there quick. Engoy the engine! Now you have to build something for it.

Yeah you should build a mini PT 19.
Re: Taught my son a few things tonight...
We got to figure out how to start it first. Not having any luck. Seems like 3/4 turn sounds the best, and every once in a while it will halfway start, but it won't run. Any suggestions?
Re: Taught my son a few things tonight...
3/4 turn open on the needle? I would try 2.5 to 3 turns out and go from there.

Finally got it running, finicky little bugger. Anywhere between 1.5 & 3.5 turns. It does not like the spring starter for some reason. Will post video soon. Ran better keeping power to the glow plug. Topped out at 16,001, but just for a split second.

Maybe I shouldn't have spent $4 on one...
I just came in from running mine, a finicky little bugger also. I do not even remember what it ran at, it went all over the place without me touching it. Needs a seal on the Needle.
