Thimble drome supercub 150

Thimble drome supercub 150
I found a estate treasure
I bought a Thimble drome supercub 150 in new old stock off the shelf cond
Never flown or set up accessory bag has not even been open
Packaging is 9 of 10 in condition. Still has fuel can but is half gone due to 50 years of leaching or evaporation I guess
Any input or idea on what it is worth would be great
Beautiful piece of history
I also would think the fuel is bad and likely can’t be sold or shipped with it if sold. (So empty it and include it with the kit?)
Any input would be helpful

Re: Thimble drome supercub 150
Skylanes has a price guide shows between $75 - $175. I don’t think these have been updated recently.
http://webpages.charter.net/skylane42/price.html
One of his blogs he indicated Charter may eleminate the availability of these pages, so if you like them, save a copy for your self.
You can sell the model and include the fuel, as long as it is less than one (1) gallon. The buyer just will pay for the additional weight. The ones I’ve purchased the sellers put the full fuel cans inside a sealed “zip-lock” bag and put the zip lock inside another plastic bag sealed with clear box sealing tape to protect against leaks. The quarts of fuel I’ve purchased from Sig came sealed in a plastic bag inside a cardboard carton, shipped safely and secure.

Re: Thimble drome supercub 150
Thanks for the info
I thought I would include it as it came with the kit and makes it more of a complete item as if it had just purchased
I can’t imagine it is any good anymore (50 + years old) and again it is half gone but I know for sure the plane has never been fueled
Probably evaporated or leached out you think?

Re: Thimble drome supercub 150
i've always liked to go to ebay and do and advanced search for the sold item in question, that way you get a better feel for what the item is actually bringing. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=61115&_sop=13&_ipg=25&LH_Complete=1&_fosrp=1&_nkw=cox+super+cub&rt=nc&_dmd=2
Re: Thimble drome supercub 150
Appears to have the 049 I knew of when I was a kid
Were the 049 the earliest supercub 150s? If so about when were they made
Whole unit is in excellent cond including packaging
good graphics vibrant colors minor corner damage also a cut in front clear cellophane (probably when they were being unpacked originally looks like boxcutter slipped)
I am sending px for reference to the motor size and any other comments

Re: Thimble drome supercub 150
The Super Cub 105 intro'd in '57, your version came out in '61, engine is now upright and called a 150. In '63 Cox added plastic fairings to landing gear.
Re: Thimble drome supercub 150
I was always of a mind that this model should have been engineered for a Pee Wee .020 with cylinder to the side, even if it might have required same extra dead nose weight.

Re: Thimble drome supercub 150
it probably could of, maybe a little underpowered, but Cox kinda dummied up the Cub with a smallish prop to keep speeds down.
Re: Thimble drome supercub 150
Any more underpowered than a Ryan ST-20?
