Re: The Traveling Propeller! Begins Now!
I call it the Refried Bean. Other than that it doesn't have a name. Here it is:
Some of the wing, and the scrap of fuselage with the canopy was originally from my totally destroyed Li'l Jumpin' Bean. I couldn't bare to throw it away, so I used those two bits and made a new plane around it.
Here, you can see the new beam type nose, lengthened wings and added static flaps for more lift, and a large stabilizer mounted to twin booms.
Here's its mother:
Here it is in the air:

Re: The Traveling Propeller! Begins Now!
Thanks, Giuseppe. The Cox engine on the Li'l Jumpin' Bean is a 1995 built Black Widow. The other one on the Refried Bean is a Norvel Big Mig .061.jorigger wrote:...I have to see two engine in this models, one is Cox, that brand is the other ? Is 049 the same ?

Re: The Traveling Propeller! Begins Now!
Brodak is a stand-up company that I have had good dealings with. I will gladly recommend and do business with them. They are "reproducing" a large number of kits that the original manufacturer no longer exists. The process is laser cutting instead of die cutting, and the kits are generally very good to excellent.
The biggest "problem" is very few glues stick well to the charred laser cut, so the wood needs sanded to remove most of the dark color. This is not significantly different than needing to sand the original die cut kits because of crushed edges.
Brodak also sells the plans for most of their kits separately. If you can source balsa locally at a good price, as well as hardware, ordering several sets of plans will ship internationally for a much lower cost than a couple kits. If you chose this route I recommend using a scroll saw to cut parts out since the process will go quicker and there is less risk of injury to yourself vs using a knife.

You may be too late for the sign up. Really the sign up period ended in the beginning of May. It all depends if Wilf send out the prop yet and he doesn't mind printing out another the signature card LOL. No offense but I would really prefer that anyone taking part in the Traveling Propeller have been members for at least a month. Its basically just so we can trust that the prop won't "go missing" along the way and that people on the list won't drop out before it reaches them (even though we had a few in the last round). I'm sure this isn't the prop's last trip around the world, you'll be able to sign up for the next round. We have also been kicking around the idea of a "Traveling Engine" that everyone should look forward to.
