USPS tracking- your package has been delivered......
To where?????????
I order from an eBay seller a new OS 50SX backplate. All looks good. Get an update last Friday that my package has been delivered in or at my mail box. Get home from work, get the mail but no eBay package in the mail box. In the mail box was a package from a RC Groups purchase and some junk mail. If it was theft then why leave the other box. Checked around the house - nothing. Contacted the seller on eBay. Nothing, no reply. Waited 5 days then filed a claim with eBay and they sided with the seller stating it’s been delivered. PayPal did the same thing. What a joke. I’m out money and no backplate because of the incompetence of the USPS.
All new eBay purchases will be useing my credit card through PayPal. Maybe a back charge from a credit card is my only protection.

Re: USPS tracking- your package has been delivered......
If you can track the package from each distribution warehouse in each city, it must've been scanned at each arrival and departure. The package was scanned when it left the post office with the mailman (flagging it as delivered). My guess is either the mailman left it at the wrong house, or someone stole it.
Re: USPS tracking- your package has been delivered......
And you can print out eBays and PayPal’s buyers protection policy and use it as poor toilet paper.
I filed a lost package complaint with USPS. Lot of good that will do.
Do people just keep or toss out misdelivered mail these days? Other than junk mail if I get someone elses mail it goes back in the mail box with a note stating misdelivered.
I doubt it was stolen. Why steal one package and leave the other?

Re: USPS tracking- your package has been delivered......
Man, I'm sorry to see this. It all started because USPS damaged an OS engine I sent Jason, breaking the backplate/NVA in the process. He then bought a new backplate from ebay, only to have it lost by USPS. In the meantime, the original engine package insurance is a joke because I can't show qualifying proof of the value such as a recent invoice from a recognizable seller. I learned that the insurance is a waste on older collectible items such as model engines. The USPS always seems to win.

Re: USPS tracking- your package has been delivered......
No it's not mail theft. It's human error compounded by computer compliance. My address is 3920, the Church down the street is 3290. We've gotten to know each other quite well in exchanging mis delivered packages from EBay or Amazon. In tracking a lost airplane, the Tracking information indicated it was delivered at 11:15am, my mail normally is delivered at 1:30, guess who's mail gets delivered at 11:15?
I was so fed up with putting the wrong mail back in the mailbox, I started taking it back to the Post Office and hand delivering it to the Post Master. It didn't take to many visits before service was somewhat improved. I still every now and then exchange mail with my next door neighbor who's 3910. It's a lot closer, but not totally correct.

I could tell you stories. But mostly FedEx and UPS. Try tracking a firearm all over the state of Florida.
USPS has always been my most reliable provider. Hopefully, whomever received your package will return it to you as a neighbor of mine did recently with a FedEx package.

Re: USPS tracking- your package has been delivered......
Some decades ago Our USPS was a mess and we seemed to get better service from FedX UPS..... Today I am a much bigger fan of my USPS service BUT----
'94 to now not sure what changed (we are rural) and initially as the county came into the 20th century with a new 911 system that drove a renaming of all county roads and addresses..all services sucked big time during the change
I am sort of like OP in that I am now 305 County Road 4330... for some insane reason the county gave a 1/4 mile away neighbor the address of 305 Private Road 4330
Spent months doing the take it ( his mail not mine) to the PO drill and pestering the hell out of the post master.... apparently the neighbor either kept MY packages or trashed them and I was super PIST... no insurance will pay if the PO stands firm on IT WAS DELIVERED
Eventually me and the Post master and MY Rural Rout driver had a F2F ......
I still shudder a bit during the seasons where they hire substitutes (my lady on vacation) or addition Xmas help
This is not just packages....
but some important mail...example Texas has pay by mail tolls ... after a certain time the toll doubles....NOT all roads impose the toll for Veterans many do.... I rely in the snail mail bill to go on line and pay.....you have no idea how many finally got to me (not mis-delivered) ...I log on to see two previous bill are late with a fee... there is no option to get an e-mail bill...grrrrr
So in my angst with my Postmaster and rural rout driver I made the case THEY, and my neighbor that just pitches the mail, were costing me money and I was seriously considering an attorney and a claim for restitution and penalties...that got their attention...sort of....Bluff threat though....Attny fees over $500 to claim against under $200 loses is poor economics even if you are indignant and righteously correct

Re: USPS tracking- your package has been delivered......
Same with me Fred, one residence three different addresses and for the reasons you indicated.
Doesn't matter, my lady mail carriers would get it to me, address or not providing my last name had at least three of the correct letters. There are three of them, one filling in when the others are off.
One, the kitten lady, posted about here before that told me about the five kittens down by the mail box and later brought me a gallon of milk and two bags of cat food and a dish to feed them with. The other sitting with me on my front steps after I lost my wife to Alzheimer's crying like babies.
They look after me if I don't pick up my mail for a few days, or if a package is to large or doesn't look right. They even send me Christmas cards. Helps if your a shriveled up somewhat cute looking benign old man.

Re: USPS tracking- your package has been delivered......
Bob that is sad and funny.... you know why sad
We bought one of the very large Patio storage Boxes from Lowe's or Home depot and I mounted it up high on our county road fence near the electric swing gate... I put a typical Mail box red flag on it and a sign for all delivery to use the box and NOT use the gate code as I have a Houdini dog
MY current mail lady actually puts all packages in this box contrary to Post Office regulations prohibiting this ..... we have one of those stupid community mail box kiosks down the road
For a number of years after we got the fence and gate...UPS and FedX had the gate code and brought all packages to the door...fine until we rescued Gus...Male french Bull Dog Houdini...
Over the years I have had some 5 different long guns go back to be repaired under warranty... both ways by USPS.... never was comfortable with a Big White Henry Box leaning on the front door visible to every one from the street... now inside the Giant mail box,,,yes flag up -- any one could stop and look in... ----but at least it is NOT an OBVIOUS long gun from Remington or Henry

Re: USPS tracking- your package has been delivered......
I have stories about all the big companies from working in retail. Glad I don't work retail anymore.
My current situation there are several lady carriers, who bring all packages and letters to the door if anything doesn't or won't fit, and if I am not home then sorts between my door and the box. The male carriers ALL OF THEM WITHOUT FAIL will put everything that fits in the box then come to the door....even if I am outside. (Yes, they have even apparently avoided me outside to go ring the door bell)
It is not a long walk to the road, but it is aggravating all the same. The ladies call their male coworkers thoughtless.
Phil
