Be glad to wait..........I think that is the general consensus from others as well but, I will let them answer for themselves.

I guess we'll wait, but Nitro owes everybody a beer!
I'm concerned about Nitro's engines. It doesn't take 2-1/2 weeks to get here. Nitro have you followed up with the post office?
Sorry to hear about this and hope there not lost!

I'm 0/2 sending items to Australia. Maybe I have bad luck or there are kangaroos with sticky fingers there.
I hope the engine is not lost.

That is great of you and yes all round
I am rather worried though.

Well, everyone who has checked in wants to wait for Indra's engine (including me) ! So, I'm gonna post a new thread/announcement (hope it's OK with Jacob that's I'm filling up the Cox Topics Section!) to make sure everyone knows we're gonna hold off for a week.
This will also give me some extra time to get all the return shipping locked and loaded for the other side of the Race.
Thinking Extreme Positive Vibes for your engine Indra !

Thanks Guys !! It was/is my pleasure...and while it's a bit intimidating for a back-woods fence-smacker, I had a great time running the Tach Race.
I'll run the Novice Engines this afternoon, and file a full report with photos and video stills from the runs. My friend Susie will probably join Eline as our second female member here. She was fascinated with all the little powerplants, and like most folks, had no idea of their fan base !
Her jeweler-like handling of the engines was greatly appreciated, as she swapped out the engines and prepped them for their trips back home.
Talk to you all tonight!

Re: Tach Race 2012 Photo Album ----- Indra's "Lost Sheep" !!!!
Great job!
What was the prop and fuel, Cox 5x3 and 25% Nitro?
Would it be possible to put the tach reading (and race position) in each image or something, I'm struggling a little to link the results and images. Are the rear intake engines well behind in performance?
Also, a few hints from the winners regarding their mods would be interesting, but that is perhaps asking for too much...

Heres an important one: IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT! Both of my engines were strong runners and had not run since last tach race, but I felt the need to try and get more RPM, so before I sent them I took out a head gasket in each one, leaving only two using the #1702 Hi comp head. Lost appx. 1k RPM in unlimited and about 4000 in mouse!

My Black Widow was not a winner but still like to talk about the mods. I enlarged the backplate hole with a rat tail diamond file then matched tank to backplate and enlarged the venturi to match
the backplate hole. Then went after the air leeks, lapping tank to backplate with compound really helps the fit and stopped air leeks there, cut a gasket for venturi out of tubing. The needle valve
was easy to slip tubing over to stop that leek. Cut down the burs on the back of the crankcase on a diamond stone and used two gaskets there. Stock crank and surestart cylinder, shortened piston
and standard head. I tried running hi comp head but could not get steady runs, I wanted steady runs and easy starts.

Kim,
I remember last year, thinking how cool it would be to participate in something like this.
I'm glad I did, though my friends must be sick of hearing me go on about it.
Thanks a million to you and your great crew. Made me feel like excited kid.
Bob

Hey Bob,
You're welcome, and I know what you're talking about. I figure a lot of my friends are a little burned out from hearing me talk about it...but they're lucky that I don't issue them copies of the race results, and follow-up with a pop-quiz!

Hey Kris,
Correct on the prop and fuel, and I do intend to go back over the photo album and add each engine's RPM and placing. I had some family situations that needed my attention, so I'll get this done as soon as I can get to it.
Later! Kim

Re: Tach Race 2012 Photo Album ----- Indra's "Lost Sheep" !!!!
I was able to get Indra's Space Hopper and his P-40 Mouse on the test stand today and , at long-last, get them a belated run.
His Space Hopper peaked at 18180 RPM's while his P-40 Babe Bee turned up to 15570.
Now, it's time to finish up the last of the mailings, and get Indra's engines back to him !
